Jokingly, I'm kind of half expecting the Hornets to send out an announcement the next few days saying that both Miller and Smith will not participate in summer league due to minor injuries. That would be so on brand for our fan base.

This should be one of the best teams we have ever put out. A lot of guys with a lot of skill offensively, then you have Kai and Bouknight who might play becuase they still haven't a shot (I doubt Thor plays).

McGowens/Bailey
Bouknight/Nick Smith
BM24/Black/Lewis?
Kai
Nnaji

Agreed, the Hornets could give less a **** about our fan happiness. Really good summer leagues have invigorated fanbases like the Kings and Blazers before. Would be nice to have one nice thing

Any idea when it starts? I know we're also doing that other summer league before the Vegas one.

The Heat also signed Taylor Funk for the summer league team. I like his game. That is the team I want to see most.

Jamie Jaquez
Patrick Gardner - Better than VW
Drew Peterson - Brandon Miller 2.0

This is our Summer League Roster. After looking at this team my FAVORITE players are Leaky Black and Angelo Allegri. I will make Angelo my McDaniels of the Hornets

Guards - Nick Smith Jr, Amari Bailey, James Bouknight

Wings - Brandon Miller , Bryce McGowens, Angelo Allegri, Leaky Black

Forwards - JT Thor, Nathan Mensah

I'd just play all the youngsters to be honest except for Melo and Williams. They all need gametime of any significance to get them confidence I'd even throw in Theo as well it wouldn't do any harm. We need a decent point guard in the summer league.

Miller "leaning" towards playing in both summer leagues.

Why wouldn't he? It's only 6 games total.

assuming everyone in the rumored roster is avaiable, what would your starters look like? As usual we will probably waste our summer league because we don't show up with a competent point guard. Same mistake every year.

Bouknight / Bailey
Bryce / Smith
Miller / Allegri / Black
Thor / Mensah
Kai / Nnaji

I often like that we don't have PG's in summer league so we can see each players one on one skills better imo. I always say Magic Johnson can make ANYONE look great.

But this year is a year I really want to see our players on on one skills. I want to see Bouknight play PG as well as Miller and Bailey.

I hope that Bailey and Smith Jr balls out as Point Guards for the summer league team. The main roster is such a logjam @ guard, it'll be the best way to get PT.
Just the idea of them holding their own, against on-ball pressure, would be worth the watch.

Bouknight should be relegated to a wing if he is to see NBA success. He's gotten taller since being drafted, hopefully he's been in the gym getting stronger.

We actually have quite a bit of ball handlers on this team.

Bailey, Miller, Black and Allegri all can handle the rock fairly well. The best at penetrating are probably Bailey and Allegri.

I think Allegri can be a steal for us but we have to be patient with him. I hope he gets a good amount of run. Doubt it with Miller there tho.

I hope we actually run the offense through Miller. This kid needs to get use to having the ball in his hands more.

I would hate to turn him into just a shooter which is likely what will happen if we keep Clifford as the coach.

If Bouk, Kai, Thor, and McGowens are all going to be on the roster, I don't think the rookies will get much of a chance to shine. I don't see the point of Bouk, Kai, and Thor being there for every game. Hopefully it's only for a game or two while the rookies get adjusted.

I never put too much stock in SL performances. Those games are just a mess. Really bad basketball on both sides. It makes the games tough to watch. Very little time for the rookies to develop any chemistry. I remember people being so disappointed in Mark Williams just standing around and not being involved last year in SL. He was accused of looking "lost". He turned out okay once he got his opportunity in the regular season.
