Season opener vs Toronto in mid-December. Don't think that's ever happened before. Normally the season starts a couple months before.

Evidently when Terry got elbowed in the face, he hurt his thumb.

Watch Hayward use this minor ailment to get out of playing for two weeks

There is a random rumor on the internet that possibly miles was denied entry into Canada. I guess we'll find out tonight if that rumor is true. Honestly, it would be quite hilarious if melo, mark, Terry Gordon pj and miles are all out. Could any other team legitimately say their top six players are unavailable for a game for legitimate reasons.

When your roster and your injury report are the same, you're not beating anybody. Congrats to the Raptors on their win over the Swarm, I guess.

So is Mark Williams back now like Ben Simmons back? I feel like bruises heal in a few days and it's now been a week+
And PJ's shoulder... wtf? Are we tanking now?

Can confirm Bridges was denied entry into Canada due to his current legal situation, per a league source. The team is going through the process of trying to get that decision reversed ahead of tonight’s game against the
@Raptors

So no Melo, Miles, Gordon, PJ or Mark?
Oh yeah, Rozier too.
We may set another couple records tonight. Biggest loss + worst starting lineup all time.

If Rozier doesn't go, who plays point?
Are we about to see a
McGowens
NSJ
Miller
Thor
Richards
starting lineup?

So Canada cares more about his legal situation in the state of CA and/or North Carolina than CA and North Carolina?

Ish, Bryce, Miller, Thor, Richards ... but it sounds like Rozier is a go so at least there will be two NBA players in our rotation
This is a mid-April lineup, wtf is going on for this to happen in December??

I actually work as a Canadian immigration officer, and honestly, I probably make the same decision as that border officer who denied him entry. Pattern of recidivism due to him violating the protection order while awaiting trial. My guess is they interviewed him at the border and he probably showed no remorse during the interview. Hornets should have gotten ahead of this matter by applying for a Temporary Resident Permit well in advance, rather than just getting it done at the border.

https://www.temporaryresidentpermitcanada.com/criminal-record.php#:~:text=Entering%20Canada%20After%20Being%20Arrested&text=For%20this%20reason%2C%20people%20who,have%20not%20yet%20been%20convicted.
Many Americans with criminal records do not realize that entering Canada may be a problem, and consequently can be denied entry when crossing the Canadian border without a TRP or Criminal Rehab to overcome their inadmissibility. The onus is always on the traveler to be able to justify their admission into the country, so it is possible to be refused entrance even if a person was found not guilty of a crime. If the Canadian border sees an arrest on a visitor's record, they may be denied admittance into the country unless they have documents proving that the result was "no conviction". For this reason, people who are awaiting trial for a crime that could render them inadmissible likely need a Temporary Resident Permit in order to visit Canada even though they have not yet been convicted. This also means that people who are enrolled in diversion, deferral, suspended sentence, or conditional discharge programs may be inadmissible to Canada until they fulfill the program's obligations and receive documents proving a favorable outcome.
If anything, this reflects well on Canada and poorly on the Hornets for not doing their research. Did we not bother to think "Hmm, Miles has an open court case. Might wanna check with the Canadian BP to see if he is allowed entry"

It isn't Canada caring more about DV or whatever than USA/NC, it's standard procedure. If you've got an open legal case for felony charges you aren't waltzing into another country. Miles also already violated probation once during the pool ball incident, the border agents probably took note of that and it made their jobs easy.
The Hornets may have been able to get in front of this (key word, may, and only if Canada was feeling generous), by making some inquiries in advance and trying to give assurances. I'm not even sure that would have sufficed.
The situation is easy to understand.

i kinda want miles to not play, just so we can see how far eric and dell and ashley have to ignore the elephant and not mention why miles is out.
