are we gonna play Lowrey when he's available, or sit him while we try to trade him?

Mitch said we aren't playing him unless he's here after the deadline.

Makes sense.

If we're angling for a buyout after the deadline we probably should never play him. He's not going to be able to sign to a real contender (maybe a dark horse at best) due to CBA reasons, so if we don't want to pay him his full salary we'll probably need to needle him a bit so he's happy to leave even if it means giving up salary.

I'd be fine with keeping him around a vet mentor as well, but that doesn't sound like Plan A or Plan B at the moment.

turns out he's not gonna even come to Charlotte until after the deadline, if we haven't traded him yet.

"Lowry is not expected to join the Hornets prior to the trade deadline, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and will likely remain away from the franchise while the future of the respected 18-year veteran gets resolved."

NBA players really just choose to ignore any type of stats once they reach a certain age and are completely clueless how bad they are.
Klay thinking he is a max player. Demarcus Cousins thinks Analytics ruin basketball. Lowry is probably one of the least desirable players in the league, I mean sure if you are a buyout guy for 2 million yes I am sure a team will sign you, congrats on being Taj Gibson.

I get wanting to play in a spot for a title, but maybe work on actually being good and not thinking you should be gifted a starting role.

I respect CP3 because he really has done minimal complaining about getting passed around from team to team over the years.

That's why I wouldn't mind trading for him and having him on this roster for the rest of this season and next. This entire roster is full of 22 year olds. We need an adult with a strong voice in the room and who better to mentor LaMelo and help him take the next step than CP3?

From the article relative to interest in Miles:

“ The Jazz are also one of several teams who’ve called on Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, league sources told Yahoo Sports, along with Detroit and Phoenix. Bridges would have to be consulted prior to any deal, as he received a no-trade clause when he signed a qualifying offer from Charlotte. While there was originally league-wide skepticism that the Hornets would be able to retain Bridges this summer, Charlotte’s newfound flexibility, creating as much as $45 million in upcoming cap space by dealing Rozier, could push an interested team in trading for him now, as opposed to leaving Bridges available to re-sign with the only NBA club he’s known.”
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Also from the Yahoo article relative to Lowry:

“ Lowry being dealt to Charlotte adds another name to the field of backcourt players available. He’s a potential re-trade candidate for the Hornets, sources said, but also as a potential player on the buyout market, should Charlotte not find a deal for the veteran floor general. At that point, one destination that currently appears to be a real possibility: Philadelphia, where the Sixers stand as one of the few contenders below the first luxury tax apron and capable of signing a player who was bought out from a contract pricier than this year’s mid-level exception ($12.4 million.) Lowry is not expected to join the Hornets prior to the trade deadline, league sources told Yahoo Sports, and will likely remain away from the franchise while the future of the respected 18-year veteran gets resolved.”

Is there any good deal for us to be made with Philly? I don’t see one.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Love how this bald dude isn't afraid to call people out. Just called Lamelo out for lack of ball movement in the 4th last game.

Franks shot and mechanics actually look solid. Just need the ball to actually go in more.

Nothing new for Lowry. He's been a known sook in Houston and Miami when things weren't going his way.

He was just playing well enough in Toronto that he didn't need to throw a tantrum about his role.

Nice of the officials to try to foul out our entire team this evening.

We forced a 5 second inbound violation. Amazing! Are we going to play defense now?
