Edit the subject or whatever you want. He's our new coach.

Cool, we hired a coach and not a podcaster. Well done

Seems like a reasonable, well thought out choice.

Notably, he also was an assistant in Atlanta with Bud.

This feels like a really strong hire for your franchise.
I'm really excited to see what the young man can bring to your team next season.
(Who do you think he'll lean towards taking in the draft?)

Now we just have a GM to hire.
Also probably from Atlanta.

Also, I'm curious if CHA fans would have supported taking one of the highly regarded former assistants who recently got fired from higher profile head coaching gigs?
Darvin Ham or Adrian Griffin specifically.

I was rooting for Adelman tbh. He was a bright Head Coaching candidate that didn't feel like a Nepo hire.

I actually was interested in both of them, I like coaches who have something to prove. But Lee has previous experience with the owners and Peterson so it’s a seamless fit

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Charles Lee
Is odd for the Hornets to hire seemingly the best candidate available. The last time I felt this good about a hire we hired Kenny Atkinson, I hope he never has joy.
I was a little worried about the radio silence. It felt very old hornets’ish.

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Charles Lee
Finally!
Glad they hired Charles Lee, who seems to have a good pedigree, experience and (hopefully) all the real inherent abilities needed to be a GOOD coach long term.
I’ve got to believe they will be conferring with him while he’s still with the Celtics, particularly on matters related to assistant coaches, personnel and draft ideas.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Very excited about this hire. Partially because it's not JJ, but mostly because Lee genuinely sounded like the best candidate to me outside of Bud.

He has a winning resume and seems like he may be able to work well with young fellas who need some guidance. Let's Go Hornets!

Re: Welcome to Charlotte Charles Lee
I'm just happy we finally hired someone who is not Steve Clifford. Lee seemed like the best of the initial 3 candidates, though I'll admit I was on board with JJ. I still wish it was Bud but that seemed like it was never seriously considered for some reason.
Will be interesting to see who he brings along as his assistants. The only guy I hope we keep is Bruce Kreitzer, the shooting coach.

I would think that Ham would be a candidate for lead assistant. I believe they spent some time together in Milwaukee.

That would be a really good hire
