Here is to hoping we don't need to use this thread this year somehow.. aka we make the playoffs still by some miracle haha
https://www.tankathon.com/mock_draftTop 10 Players according to their Mock
Cooper Flagg
Ace Bailey
Dylan Harper
Egor Demin
Tre Johnson
VJ Edgecomb
Kon Kneupal
Khaman Maluach
Nolan Traore
Hugo Gonzalez
Haven't started doing much yet, but on the surface seems like a very strong draft up top. A lot of interesting Freshman in college basketball unlike last year. International class seems pretty strong as well.

This is a draft were in just hoping we land in the top 4 because I wouldn't be mad with either of these 4 Flagg/Bailey/Harper/Demin
I have to watch the rest, but these are the 4 that have stood out to me so far.

Even behind the top 5 (i think Traore deserve to be in the top 5 of this draft, he's 18 and is already producing against grown men in European cup & our french league), you can find good potential/prospects behind the top picks - like Zikarsky, even if he does not play much in australian league, maybe Diop will provide more info during the season. I also like Ian Jackson from his U17 performances - hope he will perform well this year - , and Ben Saraf is also interesting if his defense can improve, since his offense - scoring and passing games - is almost a guarantee even in the nba.
On the french side, behind Traore i would recommand watching Penda and Diawara (both 19 and with same tweener 3/4 profile, both being good defenders and both being able to play as point forward). Zaccharie Perrin is also a name to keep in mind, even though his development has been up and down (but imo he will be undrafted)
Not a fan of Essengue (who is in line with many 'softies' we developed these last years), and there are other names, but i dont see any other nba potential among this 2025 generation.

Tre Johnson looking very promising, easily a Top 3 talent if the flashes of scoring ability and solid IQ aren't a mirage.

Nearly stopped watching as soon as i heard a very talented Ohio state team, but he's a phenomenal prospect.

Egor Demin could be interesting on this roster.

if we get a lottery pick and come out of this draft with Kon Knueppel my sanity will be tested

The Saloon pick left me with the impression that this regime can't be trusted with mid lottery picks, which is what we're most likely to land unless we make the playoffs. I don't want more Saloon's on the roster and unless they get top 3-4 where all you have to do is follow universal mocks, I think they'd do something dumb like reach for a center since they ignored Clingan last draft or take some large looking dude from Germany who doesn't know how to play basketball.

Yep he was someone who caught my attention before the college season even started. He's a 6'9 guard with legit PG skills.
With how Melo has been scoring you can easily slide him over to sg or just have Egor at SG because he's taller and just have him as the secondary playmaker.
Depending on how Ace plays I wouldn't be shocked if Egor ends up in that 2nd spot behind Flagg.

All I ask is that if we're drafting top 4, go BPA. Please do not base a top 4 pick off of anyone you have on this roster. Even if it's a PG, we'd figure it out one way or another.

ESPN+ early mock has Hornets taking Liam McNeeley at 10
McNeeley supplies plus positional size (6-7), perimeter versatility and shooting, sharp feel for the game and a strong winning pedigree. Those traits have made him a natural fit at UConn right away -- he's ideal to work in the Huskies' complex offense, but also has the chops to improvise and make plays when needed. On a team that doesn't have much traditional playmaking, he'll be called upon to generate offense.

Liam McNeely sounds more like a Boondock Saints character than an NBA player

Useful player but if we come out of two lottery years with Salaun and McNeeley that’s a huge L
Need to get a top 5 pick

The league can't allow him and Johnny Furphy to be on the same team

I'm still mad they passed up on having an Australian guy with a mullet named Furphy on the team.

Learned my lesson these past few years, sick and tired of watching no-IQ chuckers and guys afraid to shoot. Hope we get a shot at this kid and he isn't just all-talk here.

Obviously he's not going to keep shooting 60 percent from deep on 7 attempts, but I can see him hopping into top 3 discussion by seasons end.

I know UConn is like the Lakers of the NCAA when it comes to homer fanbases, but even by that measure they've been saying crazy things about this kid. Hope he lives up to even a fifth of it, nice to have options where we are.
