I hope the team just told Mark to chill in Charlotte for a bit. I don't know how it all works, but if Midnightish Thursday morning he finds out he's traded, how much work does an athlete have to do to prepare to move to the other coast only to be told 72 hours later that it fell through and go home. I mean LaMelo would at least have packed up his gokart. Maybe it's how much I think moving sucks but it's basically the first thing I though about when I read the trade was backed out of. How annoying that must be.
Looking forward to LaMelo being active in this one, although I suppose it's another tank-off.

Way better than what my prompts generated. It's like asking AI to recreate the Mona Lisa.

hope this doesn't turn in to a thing

Charles Lee states in his pre-game that they’re still working through some things with Mark Williams and then he will rejoin the group as soon as possible.

Mark’s time with the Hornets has been one hell of a cryptic saga.

There’s a possibility this whole snafu could cost Mark Williams upwards of 9 digits in career earnings. It’s certainly not a “whoopsie, welcome back buddy haha that was crazy right? Well time to put this mess behind us and get back to work eh?” situation. I’d be having my lawyers combing through the CBA to double check all the fine print before I stepped back on the court for this team too

In good news, the best center on the roster is suiting up tonight. The Moose is loose.

I feel for Mark, I bet he's kinda mad right now at all parties and I wouldn't blame him
We hired a guy at my work and he moved from somewhere in Canada down to NC for it. Only problem is his first day was Friday March 13th 2020. The day everything shut down. They cut his contract after a month. That guy was not thrilled with that.
Mark definitely spent 72 hours planning out his future in Los Angeles and dreaming of the possibilities with two all-time great playmakers lobbing him the ball over and over again only for that dream to be shot down due to some vague **** coming from the Lakers, and now he's gotta come back and play for the morons that chose to trade him for Dalton Knecht?
Yeah I'd need a few days

I don’t expect Mark in Charlotte long term after this. If all reports are to be believed, our medical staff’s incompetence cost him his big career changing move, and cratered his value significantly in the process.
That is the rosiest situation (incompetence).
The more nefarious one is that Jeff knew he was damaged goods and played him through injury to try to sell high. Which is much much worse. I wouldn’t trust this team as far as I can throw it. Then there’s the third option, which is that the Lakers cooked this scheme because they got cold feet and felt they overpaid. Which, if true, would be one of the worst feelings a player could possibly have. Long story short I’d be heavily mentally shaken by this process and deeply distrusting of just about everyone.
I doubt either Mann or Williams would come back, if they knew what was good for them - because clearly, this medical staff is not.

Or...it's not our fault at all.
I don't understand framing the choices as either us being incompetent or us committing fraud like those are the only possible options.

Yes it could also be the Lakers committing fraud.

It's also entirely possible both parties had the same information on hand and reached different conclusions.
