We like Brandon Miller. Why not have two of him on the court?

Miller was an elite shooting wing prospect, Bailey is still a massive WIP.
Miller was the best scorer in the nation, Bailey doesn't get to the rim with any regularity whatsoever.
Miller got to the rim at will, Bailey is forced to live off of inefficient contested shotchucking because he can't generate space in isolation.

This isn't even getting into his horrific playmaking numbers either.

Re: The Ace Bailey Thread
This is why Philly will take VJ, unless he develops new concerns in the workouts. Ace could slide back toward 5 or even 6, but that’s his catch spot IMO. Too much of an athlete and shooter to fall dramatically. His measurables hurt him a bit.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Let the hyperbole begin. Silly season where top prospects become either unplayable or HOF'ers before they step on the court. Bailey will be fine.

Based on what exactly?
Bailey averaged less than 1.5 assists per game. Do you know how inexplicably awful that is?
He's a tall shooting wing, that measured out smaller than people expected at the combine and shoots sub 70% from the FT line and sub 35% from 3.
He can't get to the rim, he can't pass or create for others, his shooting needs a lot of work before it gives anybody faith it can translate to the NBA.
Someone did one of those data queries recently, and not even one of those cherry picked ones with 10+ categories leaving you with Thad Young, Larry Bird and Lebron James.
Simply, every player drafted in the first round that has had an assist rate less than 10% and with a usage rate of 25% or higher (since 2008)

The company seems about right, he's another hyper-athletic & low skilled small ball five.

Looking at the teams you chose to support, I'd say your instincts are leading you into danger more often than not.
YB: warned. Insults / personal attacks aren't welcome here.

Re: The Ace Bailey Thread
The Rutgers guys gave me bad vibes all season. You can be a good prospect on a bad team, but it's a huge red flag to have two of the top prospects in the draft and not be able to find a way to win more. That said, I guess Rutgers was much improved when he was on the court. I'm very ignorant to the whole situation.

Nothing a tidal wave of rorschach stats won't help clarify.

Miller got to the rim at will
What are you talking about with this?
Miller’s biggest weakness is getting to the rim, finishing through contact, and his handle
Am I the only one who watches Brandon Miller? His driving is a huge problem holding him back from superstardom.

Re: The Ace Bailey Thread
Brandon Miller was much better than Bailey and played vs much better competition. Baily doesn't have Miller's best nba skill which is being a deadly 3pt shooter.
Also Brandon Miller isn't exactally tearing up the league. He has a 14 per and a below average true shooting percentage.

This guy is going to destroy an empty gym. Personally I'd stay away but I can see the appeal.
The downside, imo, is Donyell Marshal and I think that's the most likely outcome.

Re: The Ace Bailey Thread
I share all of the concerns other have echoed about Bailey, but at the end of the day I think NBA teams draft mostly based on upside and traits at the top of the draft. Bailey is a really good athlete with a 8'11" standing reach whos shown flashes of elite shotmaking. I think hes still the favorite to go #3, but he scares me.
