At least Dicky didn't make it either. That would have really freaked me out.
Amazing that Roy is there. What a talent.

Wow, I'm surprised to see David West there. He better thank Paul for that.
So stupid that Wallace didn't make it over Jamison, Butler, Pierce, or Joe Johnson.

roy, what a talent? true, but what an undeserving all-star over baron davis. i cant believe roy made it over baron. that is absolutely absurd. and west over josh howard or camby or even chandler i think is a mistake.
i think stern wanted 2 hornets at the game in new orleans... thats what i think. no offense to west, but without paul west is just another good pf.
as for the east... i said it before and i'll say it again... wade has no business at the game this year. i dont care how great he is. i wonder if any player from a team with only 9 wins at the end of january has ever made the team before? but you can only blame the moron fans for that one.

Camby for West
Turk for Jamison
Kaman for Stoundemire

Am I allowed to whine about how two guys we could have had making the All-Star team? They'd look pretty nice on this team right about now.

was there a rule that would not have allowed us to move up to get Howard...didn't we move up to get Mek...?
That would be 3 all stars...

Yes, the rule that Orlando didn't offer to trade with us.
But Portland was, which would have gotten us Paul, and we passed on Roy all by ourselves.
Passing on two All-Stars in favor of an ever-disappointing PG, and two guys which have played 0 games this year.
Not the best way to build an expansion team.
Just more proof that Bernie was a helluva lot better coach than he was GM!

PS - if we added Paul just by himself...we'd probably have three All-Stars right on our team right now
We'd be a much better team, and two of Okafor/Wallace/Richardson would have probably made it.

All I can say about the draft is to get over it... it sucks, but why obsess over Paul for the next 10 years? We've drafted badly, no doubt, but I don't know what purpose it has lingering on it.
Fats: The coaches would 100% have voted in Wade anyway, if they voted in Joe Johnson. Whoever's fault it is that the Heat are garbage, it is not Dwyane Wade. He's a much better player than anyone else that would have gone in his place.
West is incredible. Chandler over him? He gets more blocks, more steals, more assists, more points, fewer fouls, turns the ball over WAY less... Tyson has rebounds and... height? Camby has a legit defense over offense argument, but West is really having an incredible season and he's certainly not undeserving.
Roy, on the other hand, I definitely agree is a bad selection. Ginobili's season has been UNREAL to this point, the only logic that I can see holding him back is "not starting," but that's really sad if true, because it means they don't pay any attention at all. Baron Davis is also very worthy.

But, but!
If we all just "got over" whatever is we constantly whine about -- <insert missing out on drafting two All-Stars, playing McInnis, Vincent's coaching, whining about me whining about something> -- what would there be to talk about?

I don't think so. Their stats compare favorably to Wallace and both Butler and Jamison are the leaders of a playoff caliber team without their superstar. Pierce is the leader of the league leading Celtics and fully deserves the selection.
The arguement can be made the Hedo should go ahead of Wallace. I like Wallace very much as a player, but there are simply more deserving candidates ahead of him.

Butler and Pierce are no-brainers over Crash. Jamison we could debate, but I think Joe Johnson shouldn't really be a contest, considering the way he's shooting.
Hamilton: Good point, of course. I (like you?) loved Roy and Paul before the drafts, and wanted very badly for us to take both of them. I'm just bored with talking about it. It's never going to change, and the excuses to talk about Paul and Roy (or even Danny Granger or Rudy Gay) come up all the time.

agree it came down to Jamison or Crash. (JJ is a guard that is why he is out of the arguement). I do think Crash should have made it over Jamison, but think Turkelu should have made it over both

On what basis?

Steals, blocks, assists, points, TS%. Jamison has rebounds, turnovers and fouls, which leads to a higher PER. I would have to say Wallace is better on defense than Jamison, though (if this matters to you) his team is playing much better. So it depends on your preferences, I guess. I think Wallace is more deserving than Jamison, but it's definitely arguable, and not a "snub."
JJ doesn't deserve it no matter what, though... Rip Hamilton, Redd, and especially Jose Calderon would have been much better.
