I don't........can't watch NBA anymore bc what should have been. We should have Chris Paul and either Brandon Roy or rudy Gay on this team.

Raptor fans can say the same thing about having either one of those guys

I'd rather not have the pick to get Paul than to be the Hawks and completely pass up on Chris Paul. They finally got a PG though.

Raptors couldn't get Paul (we could if we lose the very last game of the relevant season or win the damned coin flip).

I'm starting to feel the same way.

It was widely reported that the Cat's could have traded #5 & #13 for #3 and Chris Paul ... but as Bickerstaff himself said, he got greedy. But this is the NBA where two good players aren't nearly as good as 1 superstar. Paul could have been that guy for us. Put Paul & Roy together here & the Cats become one of the best young teams in the league and super exciting to watch.

I was hoping that the allstar break fixed things, but of course, no, it didn't. Now I have to wait all the way until May and the lottery for the next glimmer of hope.

I'm not sure Paul would have totally fixed things, too. We seem to have the makings of a dumb and cursed organization.

How the hell did we beat the Celtics.

No more Draft.

trade for a Established player.

getting another young guy will make us take a step back on our Playoff hopes.

Carroll is lacking this year, Morrison and May are out.

patience is key

The problem is that unless you shell out for Calderon, there aren't any PG's in FA worth getting, whereas there are two elite playmaking PG prospects in Rose and that kid from Arizona.

I don't think we'd be in a much different situation even if we got Paul. We'd still lack shooters and scoring options, we'd still have a mildly (Please Use More Appropriate Word) head coach, and it'd still be the same people in charge in the front office.

You want to get better? Can Sam and bring in a quality head coach so we can maximize the talent we've got. Then add quality depth around the core we've got and go from there. Right now we're in draft lottery limbo. At least this year we don't try very hard so I doubt we'll win a bunch of useless games at the end of the season to hurt our lotto chances.

Thanks! I agree...I love this team too. A good experienced coach will change everything and we'll be right back on track to make some noise.

Yeah, I don't think a legitimate MVP candidate who is the exact type of player we need at PG would change our situation much at all.

i gotta hand it to you spectre, you are consistently the most optimistic poster on the board. i wish i had your positive outlook on this team. i wish i could believe that a new coach would solve all our problems.

Yea. Spectre is generally the most agreeable. I'm just glad my username doesn't abbreviate my first name and/or include an underscore (W_Cronkite would be pretty snazzy though)

Not much difference if we had Chris Paul??? That's the craziest thing I've heard on this board. Take a look at NO's roster and tell me if Felton was there would they have the best record in the west? Paul put up 31 pts 11 assists in a double digit victory over the Mavs tonight.....deron williams had like 29 pts 14 assists the other night. These guys know how to get their teammates the ball in the right spot......and they can shoot so much better than Felton. Chris Paul on our team would put us as a 3 seed in the East. This could have been our team if things went a little differently:

Paul
Roy
Wallace
PF from the JRich draft or free agent
Howard (if Orlando's Gm screwed up)

Ugh. You have to stop playing "NBA draft Best case scenario". Orlando was not going to take Okafor over Howard. Just be glad we didn't stand pat with Childress/Livingston/Deng instead.

That said, Paul improves this team significantly and it's an outright ridiculous statement to say anything otherwise. We would've improved too much to be in the running for Roy though and honestly I think taking someone like Millsap in the 2nd would've been a better move.

Paul
Richardson
Wallace
Millsap
Okafor

Sick, but completely hypothetical, so it's pointless.

I made a "what if" team on NBA2k8.

Paul - Marcus Williams
Joe Johnson - Hammer
Crash - Dude
LMA - B.Wright
EO50 - Sean Williams

It's fun, but that's all it is. We can't keep continue to look backwards - especially to things that might never have happened. We need to look forward to move forward or we'll never make any progress.
