Question about Wallace from a Jazz fan..

Post#1 » by Phenom415 » Sat Feb 23, 2008 7:02 am

I may be totally off base with this, but for a guy that lives time zones away and follows another team, I think I watch alot more Bobcats basketball than one would expect. With that said, I have to ask... is it just me or does Gerald Wallace always seem to be taking serious slugs to the noggin?! I can remember 3 or 4 times just within the last year or two where the guy was dunking and either his momentum or a defender knocked his legs out from under him and his head smacked against the floor... and now we have this episode tonight. I'm a huge fan of the guy's play, but I honestly worry about his physical well-being. I'm not trying to be sarcastic or make light of this either; I'm deadly serious. Am I alone here? Has anybody else noticed this?

It is his high energetic relentless play. He is fearless and plays with a risk of an injury. However the elbow from Moore wasn't a result of his style of play. It could happen to anybody who plays some defense.

He has a higher risk of getting hurt playing the way he plays. We also play him at PF which increases that risk even more. Yesterday would've happened no matter where he was playing because he was just defending a guy on the ground in the post and caught an elbow.

And also, why do you have a Jason Hart sig? :)

we dont call him crash for nothing.

to answer your questions... yes we have noticed. its impossible not to notice. wallace plays harder and more aggressively than any player in the league. he is absolutely fearless and plays basketball with the same recklessness of an NFL free safty. he will dive into the stands for a lose ball during a preseason game. and to make matters worse, he has been played as a power forward for the majority of the past 2-3 years, putting him at greater risk.

Hmm. Interesting. At any rate, you guys are lucky to have him. I think he's the most underrated player in the NBA.. and has been for a couple years now. Hopefully he'll have better luck in the future.
