Primoz is gangsta.

Sam Vincent sucks as a head coach. It's still his first year, so there is room for improvement, but for the time being, he is pretty bad.

Hee-larious....

As far as Primoz calling Sam a terrible coach, something about stones and glass houses comes to mind.....

Primoz is an idiot. He's been acting like a moron since he's been with the Pistons. He thought he was one of them, apparently he still thinks he's a bad boy.

I was watching the ORL-DET game few weeks back, the guy was talking trash to the ORL bench after a made basket. Second time he did it the ORL announcers noticed it too and they were like WTF.. (guy played 5 mins and the Pistons lost the game)

He's a joke. I'm glad he isn't with the Pistons anymore, it just didn't look right, Primoz next to real gangstaz on the bench.

The Pacers got rid of him, the Bobcats got rid of him, the Pistons got rid of him, the Raptors will get rid of him and that will be the end of Primoz' NBA career.

 he is probably taking a shot at Sam, rather than citing himself as the savior. "See how they are doing" just refers to Sam's coaching in general? :dontknow:

Good job , Primo! Walter, it's your turn!

Absolutely, and the Slovenian big man does it in almost perfect gangsta slang. Why does a Slovenian talk like a rapper? Fellow Slovenian Rasho Nesterovic speculates it might be because he broke into the NBA in Indiana.

He is a new fan favorite on Raps' board. He had a great first game for them, played with high energy and apparently sports his (new) gangsta image.

11pts (5-5 FG 1-1 FT) 3 rebs (1off.) 1 blk. 4 PF
in 13 minutes

Post Game - the great part start after 2:20 http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=YiQUjZeShPQ

From Raps' board:

Mitchell said Primo starts every sentence with gangsta and ends it with pimp!

There are very funny threads worth to read on their board!

They even had a poll for his nickname already - http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=766250

I thought Primoz was a stiff but he looked decent in his debut.

Most of you guys are pretty down on him and teams keep giving him away........so I'm pretty confused.

You guys had the benefit of watching him play serious mins......what can I expect from this guy longterm?.

Two years ago he was pretty good for the Cats. Not really sure what happened last year. He was sick or injured much of the early season, lost a ton of weight, and never really got back into form. This year I expected more from him but but he sucked. His fault? Vincents? Maybe some of both? IDK. He's no top 10 center but if he's motivated and playing in the right system he should do just fine IMHO.

It's pretty funny to me how he rips Vincent. I'm sure that he will not be the last either.

You guys gotta go to the Raptors board (Using Primo)

They have 3-4 Primo-inspired threads right now. Almost all of them are good for big laughs.

Best nickname so far: Primo Suave

They love him but suspect he's a one-shot wonder.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now, on a serious note, it might be nice to track Primo's play in Toronto for what it says about Vincent/the coaching system in Charlotte.

Meaning, Primo really sucked, bad, this year for the Bobcats. Like, horrible. If he suddenly starts being an OK player off the bench for Toronto, that says something pretty damming about Vincent.

Either Vincent is not using his players in the right way, or they simply hate Vincent's system/playing for him.

I'm thinking of using the "Primo" yardstick, as it were.

He was pretty good for us in first two seasons (good pick in expansion draft), then he was overtired (an ilness? , some kind of syndrom?) - triggerd by the lack of rest in the offseason (he did play for Slovenian national team). He missed early months of the season and had problems to find his game, injured in one match, lately he had some flashes of his former play. This season he was delayed because of some unspecified family reasons - that's why Vincent tried Hollins at C (he thought Okafor is better for the team at PF) - and Brezec never caught up with Vincent's system (if he has any). It may not be his fault, Vincent spoiled some players for us nto using them in proper way (Herrmann,...)

The other thing which didn't work for his favor was that because of a sudden lack of big men Emeka started at C and (there is a kind of consensus on our board) he fits at 5 better than 4 (he often wasn't quick enough to guard opposite pf effectively - he's better as defensive anchor at c under the basket ). Combined with small ball we often played he was losing a spot in our long term plans. When he was coming back they didn't fit in with Emeka well, they were tending to find the same spot under the basket.

Resume:

He gets confidence from being starter (we start him because of it and let him play small amount of minutes).
He is considered to be soft, other on this borad could tell better why.
For his height he is not good rebounder.
When he actually rebounds, good portion of his rebounds are offensive rebs.
Has a nice mid shot and is often on from this spot.
When he is not, it's usually no bog deal, he doesn't shoot much. Had a good shot selection.
Because of this shot, he could lure opposite center from under the basket area.
He is not good defender - his fouls tends to be unsufficent (and one calls).
Could have stamina problems.
His current hustle play can be caused by contract year.
He was 5-5 against Knicks in limited minutes - maybe he will shoot more to get soma attention and contract. He din't shoot many more shots in almost starter minutes for us. But usually with above .500 FG combined with some like 0-4 FG games.

After all, he was one of the our last original player (other are Gerlad Wallace and Emeka Okafor) and helps us in early season, we wwish him do well. I'm looking forward what he will do in Toronto - I never realized he could have such a gangsta image :)
