He thinks he is a C. I'd give him a D or F.

considering his goal was to make the playoffs. I guess it is an F

D, because at least he tried different things to shake up the team when the things he had been trying didn't work so well.

He even said somethin about home court advantage. So F. It would be D otherwise. The play off itself is not a bi issue if he didn't make silly comments. Lots of them.

I'd give him an F. I know that might sound harsh but my justification for that is this: is there another coach we could have gotten that you believe would have done a worse job? I believe Vincent was the worst coach hired this off-season by any team by a wide margin. He lost the hustle and motivation our players had under Bernie and didn't bring any sort of cohesive strategy to the table to make up for that.

Even when he tried to shake things up they were miserable failures. McInnis was a huge mistake. Even if you believe Felton played poorly enough to justify Jeff's starting status it still hurt the team in the long run. If we played Ray from day 1 at PG and let him sink or swim we wouldn't have this "Felton watch" in the last quarter of the season because we'd know definitively what we had.

Vincent never tried to get Carroll's groove back, he didn't play Dudley enough in the early part of the year, and although he's no longer on our team he totally destroyed Walter Hermann's contribution through misuse. I'm honestly searching for positives here but I'm not seeing any. Our entire core has either regressed or been in limbo, our veteran talent (basically Carroll) has been mediocre, and we entrusted a journeyman PG that no other team would touch with 30mpg. The FO had to make his best coaching decision of the season for him, how telling is that?

Honestly typing all that made me feel worse about him. I hope MJ and the rest of the guys upstairs make the right call and cut him loose at the end of this season. There are much better coaches out there right now and this team needs direction not a general learning on the job.

Just by looking at the team, I have to agree with Sam. I watch Bobcats games here and there and with that young of a roster, he is doing a solid job. You guys are also missing May and Morrison. Granted these guys aren't stars but they still can contribute.

I give him an F. There's been times where I've questioned if he was purposely doing things to make us tank, that's how bad it's been. I was against this chioce from day one and with the talent we've got in the lowly East we should have a good 10 more wins than we do with a solid coach.

But the management isn't off the hook, I give them a C and only because they came up with the J-Rich move. They still went cheap on the coach, PG, and completely ignored the lack of front court we had. So you take a bad coach, give him big holes at major positions, and put him in a crappy position and what do you get? A losing season.

No way does he deserve a C. For the majority of the season, it seemed like SV and the team were nowhere near the same page. He mishandled the backcourt and couldn't bring out the best in Okafor. Also the teams defense has been downright horrible. At least with Bernie, the team would compete defensively, but with SV coached team it was a no-show most nights.

Now I don't entirely blame him, because Okafor and Felton are not rookies and there were many nights where they just did not come ready to play. Is that the fault of the coach? IDK, but SV is a rookie head coach in the NBA and I guess if you want to be fair, there should be a learning curve for him too. So I give this clown an incomplete. But he never should have been hired in the first place, if the goal was to make the playoffs this season.

I completely agree with Rich... at times it seemed as though he were trying to lose, his decision-making was so poor. I have never in my life heard of a front office cutting a player just so that a coach wouldn't play him anymore. He alienated players, his choice of lineups was horrible, and he didn't play Dudley nearly enough.

Plus, our style of play is stupid, we don't run plays, and we haven't managed that uptempo offense we were promised (and continue to run smallball for, I guess).

It's hard to imagine a worse job without fistfights in the locker room or randomly benching a starter.

This team is better than last year. We lost BK, but got Jason Richardson and Dudley. We're also not in the playoffs, we're 2.5 games out. We're a bottom-10 team still.

Vincent held us back terribly... if McInnis alone is responsible for about 4 losses (which is really Vincent's fault, not Jeff's), the failure to play Dudley and the lack of seemingly any offensive strategy could easily have cost us another 5-10.

Wiseguys, a lot of NBA fans that see very few Bobcats games (basically all of them) point out losing May and Morrison as a big negative but it's just not the case. We didn't have May for any significant stretch of time last year either. Morrison had an atrocious PER, so bad that if he ever became a star it would be unprecedented in league history after a PER that low in his rookie season. Losing them didn't help us but we still should be significantly better than last year's team, especially in comparison to the rest of our weak conference.

Basically we have last year's team minus Knight, Morrison, Brezec, and Hermann while we added J-Rich, McInnis, Dudley and Mohammed to replace them. To me the latter four players are clearly better than what we had, basically J-Rich alone insures that.

The Bobcats aren't exactly loaded with talent but we shouldn't have just 24 wins either. I expected a season more like what the Sixers are experiencing and I firmly believe that without Vincent that's where we would be. Heck, we might even be there with Bernie just because we'd still have that heart and fire.

We can say we had Brezec and Herrmann (and didn't had Nazr) - it was useful to bring Nazr but Sam "Fine Ham Biscuit" Vincent started the season with Primo and Waler on the roster. He spoiled Fabio, there's no way we would trade him without having coach who couldn't use him properly. Brezec is another story (Sam probably didn't like to be called gangsta instead of coach).

So before the trade basically we have last year's team minus Knight and Morrison while we added J-Rich and Dudley (and McInnis moving to the back-up er starter) to replace them. To me the latter two players are clearly better than what we had, basically J-Rich alone insures that.

That's even worse.

I'd give him a C as well. He's a new coach adjusting to a new team that was adjusting to a major new piece and a new system. That doesn't mean I'm not dissappointed in our record. I'm just not surprised to see we had huge growing pains.

No coach should need an "adjustment period" to realize that Jeff McInnis is terrible. Of course, Vincent never adjusted, so it's really worse than that.

I give him a Z. F's are way too good of a grade for him.

Failure of a season should warrant an F.

That said, depending on how the rest of the games go he can work his way up to a D.
