Hammers: bobcats Vs blazers

3 in a row!! Love it!!

Gold: Felts. Played a really, really well rounded balanced 1st half. Got his own more in the 2nd half but it got us over the line. Looked cool and confident for most of the night. Vincent is an idiot for sitting him for as long as he did for that offensive and nearly cost us the game.

Silver: EO50. Dominated offensively but got smoked on the boards. Made really good, deep position and the ball came into him quickly which allowed him to go to work.

Bronze: Swish. Not the greatest of games for Swish, but you wouldn't know it looking at his line. I'm giving him the bronze more for the assists and ball movement. The 3 pointers he took weren't bad shots at all, they just didn't drop.

Vincent is an idiot.

Ditto, it makes me wonder how this would've looked if we didn't get totaly owned on the boards. Winning feels good.

Ya know he only took 6 shots (made 4) in the 2nd half with 3 coming right at the end right...along with 4 assists. He made a few more great passes that weren't converted...one being a drive and bounce pass to Duds who got blocked.

This is the only board I've ever encountered that tries to penalize the PG when the team has good ball movement.

3-Ray: great game!
2-Mek:can be a beast when he wants to(or Sam lets him)
1-Hammer: 9pts and 7 reb let the team

HM:Boykins: his spark was huge even if the stat line doesn't say so

As our point guard and floor general, do you think he had a better 1st half or a better 2nd half?

First off I'll admit I didn't see the 1st quarter...thought it started at 10:30 and was pissed to find out I'd missed the beginning.

But anyway, looking at the stats for the 1st he took 4 shots (making 3, all driving layups) before he got his first assist and accounted for 2 in the quarter. There's a couple in there...like Crash missing a layup...where it could have been a potential assist, but regardless. He didn't play but half the 2nd quarter where he got 3 assists, 2 of which were 3 pt shots by Crash & Swish.

I don't discount those assist on 3s like some, but I think it's more effective when those assists come on drives and dunks/layups in the paint. Most of the time he's still pulling defenders in for a better shot on those 3s assists.

In the 2nd half he drove, drew defenders and passed in the paint. Nazr got one, Mek got one and Swish got one (alley oop I think). I also remember that sweet bounce pass he got to Duds between two defenders where he got blocked by (I think) Przbilla.

Just an overall good game to me. If pressed I'd say I liked his PG play in the 2nd half, but again I'd only seen him play 6 minutes in the 1st.

It was a good game last night. I really like what you said in the gamethread that you felt that "we are going to win"; I felt the same. The team showed a good synergy, they were into it and they were all pulling together. The boarding issue needs to be rectified (maybe the book "how to box out for dummies"), but our overall defense has improved and they're working together.

Fun stuff to see that.

BTW...that "ball movement" comment wasn't directed at you...just took the opportunity to post a general observation.

It was probably directed at me, but I don't "penalize" the PG when we have good ball movement; in fact, with the PG we have, I think it's a necessity.

?

My kids aren't quite old enough to think about spring break yet, but thanks for asking I guess. Either way I haven't been anywhere, watching Bobcats' games like always.
