Since everyone is waiting to see if Doc is continuing or bailing on this project, I thought that we don't want to totally waste this week. Previous winners were:

1-Michael Beasley -Kansas State -PF (12-3)
2-Derrick Rose -Memphis -PG (14-0)
3-O J Mayo -Southern Cal -PG/SG (Mayo 9- Griffin 4)
4-Blake Griffin -Oklahoma -C/PF (Griffin 7- Bayless 3)
5-Anthony Randolph -LSU -SF/PF (Randolph 3- Bayless 2- Gordon 2)
6-Jerryd Bayless -Arizona -PG/SG (Bayless 5- B. Lopez 4- Four others also received votes)

I hope that doc won't mind my picking up the ball and shooting, and I hope the rest of you guys won't either.

Let me ask a question first. How do you consider who should be next? BPA, Biggest Upside Guy, Smallest Fail (Bust) Factor, Best Fit, etc. Just curious!

24 Hours, guys. Enjoy the poll--and Claw ON!

Let me share my thoughts on the side question of the day before I tell how I'm voting. Since the Bobcats are still the newest franchise in the league and still building from SCRATCH (ahem), I am looking for the player who has it all... he's bpa, got qualities that compliment our roster, and hopefully has the smallest bust factor. I'm not so much into upside, as the players with the most upside SEEM to have a pretty heavy DOWNside too. I want a player who will become a team leader, something few on our roster have warmed up to. It doesn't matter whether this guy is a 1, a 4, or a 5, just as long as he is offensively better than what we have now, is not a defensive seive, is a determined gym rat, and is a quality human being (No TO tantrums, please!) too, then I think we have someone with a low "fail factor". Goodness knows, we don't need a dud.

I do have one preference. If we have to get a PG and a big this summer (We do) I prefer to draft the big and trade for the point man. I think we get more mileage in 2008-09 out of our new guys this way.

I'm switching off of Love and going with Brook Lopez. Something tells me that this guy has a smaller fail factor than the other bigs left on the board.

I went with Lopez again. He's probably BPA... he's a very good low post scorer, and apparently plays defense. He might be a center, which would be a problem, but I think he's probably the best choice given who's on the board.

Voting has now concluded. Now to break this xxxxxx@! tie. Scissors, someone!

And the winner is...you are going to "Love" it. Pick # 7 on our board is....

Kevin Love, C /PF, UCLA Freshman

The summary board will now be updated and then we go on to Pick # 8- Where we have a 78% chance of actually making our selection. Good luck, gentlemen!
