I'll always remember being able to see the players from different angles by looking at Sam's head.

His deferral of blame was the only thing that really, really bugged me about Vincent outside of x's and o's. Wanted it to work, gave him the benefit of the doubt... bad fit. Good luck wherever you end up, Sam, you'll get a shot at running an NBA team again one day.

...as a point guard of the team. It is much more likely to happen.

My most memorable Sam Vincent moment was when he used all of his timeouts with like 4 mins left in a clost game. Stay classy Sam Vincent.

I'll always remember Vincent calling a timeout and then running into the middle of the court while all the players walked slowly over to the bench.

No, I still don't get it.

The funniest thing is that lurking fans of other teams could just see the name of this thread and (knowing nothing about how bad coach Sam was, thinking he is a nice person) would think we are a bunch of nice people here on board and full of respect(being sorry for Sam - sacrificed to make a place fro L.Brown).

Keeping the NBA careers of Primoz Brezec, Jeff Mccinnis and Othella Harrington alive......

Not substituting a free-throw shooter for Mek at the end of the Celtics game contributing to a back breaking loss.....

Management forcing Sam to cut Mccinnis(just as the playoffs were out of reach), then posting a franchise record winning streak and a winning record afterwards even without crash for much of it........

ahhh memories :banghead:

What about that time he said: "So we didn't make the playoffs. Oops. Sorry".

Oh that Sam. What a guy!!

We fired the wrong person

Post#13 » by andre1975 » Mon Apr 28, 2008 8:33 pm

Sam, it wasn't your fault the team didn't flurish in your first season and therefore you shouldn't have been fired. MR JORDAN on the other hand needs to be fired!!! Helluva a player but a terrible terrible front office man!

Welcome to RealGM Sam. Too bad you weren't allowed to stick around...no doubt that extra 40 points Ammo & Fatboy will provide next year will easily garner that 4th slot just like you said.

The greatest irony of that post is, of course, that Jordan was responsible for hiring Vincent.

Indeed he was... Which by the way was another bad decision on Mr. Jordan's part.

Jordan's only technically made one bad decision since coming here and it's been Vincent. At the end of the day I don't think Ammo will be considered a bad decision 2-3-4 years down the road.

While I dont think anyone will use the Morrison pick as a sign of Jordan's brilliance, Morrison could become a serviceable player. It is a little early to call him a failure just yet.

I think it's already too late for him not to be called a bad decision, because there's really no way Ammo becomes as good as either Gay or Roy. He can become a non-bust, I suppose, but even that seems extremely unlikely.

Gay scores, has athleticism, but is not yet a good player. He's young so he could get there, but don't be fooled by the box score numbers right now. Gay very badly needs to be coached by a good teacher of the game.

Roy on the other hand is very good.
