Aside from MJ buying part of the team, does this move put us on the NBA map for good?

Not only for Charlotte, but for the rest of the league?

Not yet it doesn't. The only thing we have done is added a new coach.

It's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too early to talk about any maps. Let's just wait until Jan '09 before we talk about this being the most important day for the franchise shall we?

Let's see if it works first!

I don't think there is any way we could not win 38 games, unless a psycho gunman came into the gym and shot the knees of every Bobcats player besides Anderson and Harrington.

I'm not saying we are a lock for the playoffs (although I think we have a 80% shot) but at least we matter again.

No doubt we are in a much better place than we were this time last week, but we were pretty excited about Vincent at the end of May last year when he was talking about up tempo, defined roles etc too.

That is what everyone was saying before this season.

We didn't know what Vincent would do. We KNOW what Brown will do.

The Bobcats probably would have made the playoffs if Vincent didn't alienate players in December and then go on to quit a month later.

We also know that there are two sides to the Larry Brown story!

It's great that he is on board, but lets not get ahead of where we are before we see what we have got.

How about I give you this amcoolio?

We send Larry to the lottery and we win that 1st overall pick!!

THAT would be the most important day for the franchise and Larry would get the props!

I agree that this is the most important day in franchise history (besides when we got a team back)! I was on record for not wanting LB. I saw 1st hand what he did to the Sixers franchise. After he stabbed the in the back and left once the team he built was old cripled vets that had long term contracts. That being said. This is HUGE for the organization. He is a Hall of Fame coach (alot different then the joke we had). Nationally we will finally get respect. Most out of town people still call us the Hornets. And not to be racial, but he is white. Every other person to ever work for this organization, it seems that they had to be black (being from UNC is 2nd most important). This shows that this organization wants to win. LB will make this team play better team basketball, and the fundimental players (Mek, Ray, JRich, Hammer, McMay, Duds) will thrive. I am curious how Crash will be looked at. LB will not stand for the 1 0n 1 do it myself style of offense that happened this year. He threw AI under the bus and constantly ripped him in the media and he was one of the best to play in the league. What will he do with Crash. He better have tough skin. He will love May (if he can stay on the court). He loves bigs that can shoot and pass (Derik Coleman was one of his favorite players).

Now lets have the day Slam wants and send Larry to the lottery and get Beasley!

good post Sam. I don't think it's the most important day in franchise history, certainly ranks amongst the tops though.

April 26, 2008 wasn't too bad, either. Got to be in the Top 3.

and May. The psycho gunman shouldn't bother with McMay's knees, it would be a waste of full metal jacket.

And Brown wanted Melo (instead of Dumars' Drako). Anthony and Beasley have some similarities (I hope that Michael won't punch many players in the face cowardly and he could actually play if we draft him).

Guys this is fricken awesome, Congrats on gettin Larry!!!
He is the perfect type of coach for your team, the roster is full of experienced college players that are used to playing in strict systems, your players will thrive in offense and with Larry Brown teaching D with already good defenders like Okafor and Wallace the team has a lot of potential. Morrison will thrive on offense next season. Im excited for you guys next year, definately the team i go for in the east!

Ha!! Another Aussie on board!!

"IF" Top Bob ever does sell the team, maybe they should relocate to Melbourne, Australia? Sure, it puts a whole new meaning on the term "road trip", but man, that team would be GOD'S in Oz!!
