Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft - Pick # 12 or Is it #11?

A programming note. Since it was brought up yesterday that our original pick # 4 chose not to enter the draft, I thought it would be correct to reduce Blake Griffin to a footnote on our summary thread, moving the other electees up to their revised positions.

Now, for the 12th time, it is time to select a Bobcat. This election will be for pick # 11 on our draft board. The last election placed Eric Gordon of Indiana University at the # 10 pick. Who could we use that's left? Are any of these remaining guys really ready to play significant NBA minutes next year? Do they fit a need? Would this be a trade fodder pick, to be shipped elsewhere? I dropped my crystal ball 2 years ago, so I'll let us all make this call.

You know the drill.....24 hours, 1 vote, Man with most votes is elevated to the summary thread, and get us the guy who does us the most good!

Off the board: Mike Beasley, Derrick Rose, O.J. Mayo, Brook Lopez, Jerryd Bayless, Kevin Love, D. J. Augustin, Anthony Randolph, Russell Westbrook, and the aforementioned Eric Gordon.

Polls are open!

Coach Brown mines his Kansas connection. Arthur. Rock. Chalk. Bobcat?

Really, my choices were down to Jordan and Arthur when I finished my slate for tonight. I chose Arthur because he allows us to upgrade PF and still use EO50 as a center-for a good long time. Jordan strikes me as a major project that I would want later in the first round. Some have compared him to a lazy version of D. Howard. I think a better comparison, although this dates me badly, would be Darryl Dawkins. I think I want Hibbert ahead of Jordan, because at least he has usable skills from day one. Jordan would have to learn everything.

Claw and scratch, you Cats!

I think DeAndre Jordan, like Eric Gordon a round earlier, has too much potential to pass up. Sure, it's not filling a need this season and he could bust out, or he could be much better than Nazr once both of their contracts expire.

I have a bunch of tough picks to make over the next 10 or so...

This voting period is now over. Overwhelming choice of DeAndre Jordan this time. New thread in just a few. Claw on!
