Would you trade JRich for.......

Post#1 » by CarolinaCash » Sun May 11, 2008 5:00 pm

anyone of the guys drafted between 12-17 in last year's draft? I knew the value was in that range last year and I see it again this year. I think all of those players drafted in that range will be solid and maybe even great NBA players.....Thad Young, Julian Wright, Al Thornton, Rodney Stuckey, Nick Young, and Sean Williams. Those 6 players will be much better in my opinion than the guys drafted 6 through 11......Yi, Brewer, BWright, Noah, Hawes, and Law.

No way.
I agree that Thad Young, Julian Wright, Al Thornton, Rodney Stuckey, Nick Young, and Sean Williams will be great players, but jason is just the perfect fit.

And I don't get the point.

There's one guy I'd consider trading Swish for...another would make me think a little bit but then I'd end up staying with the sure thing.

That's it.

i think thad has the most superstar potential of the bunch but im not sure i'd give up a proven 20ppg player for him at this point.

It's too early to say that BWright was picked too high.

No. I would go back and take Roy instead of Morrison though in the 2006 draft.

Which would've lead to the Bobcats taking Joakim Noah in 2007.

Which would've lead to Richardson, probably not being a Bobcat...but the Bobcats doing the Kurt Thomas trade and leaving us with enough room to sign Jamison this year.

So, of course; Wallace, Okafor, Noah, Felton, and Roy would be the starting 5. With the team probably not trading for Nazr, but trading Brezec for just about anyone.

Of course if I could back in time I would change my lottery numbers first.

Here the WHAT IF Bobcat team:

Chris Paul
Brandon Roy
Wallace
Noah
Okafor

If we traded 5/13 for Paul, If we drafted Roy instead of Morrison, If we drafted Noah (or Wright, Thad Young, Williams, Thornton, etc).

Yeah, it's fun kinda to go back in time and think "what if." The sad part is that almost all other teams, if given perfect 20/20 draft choices (like we are giving the Bobcats), would be immeasurably better than our "perfect draft pick" team.

After all, Paul would have been picked #1 that year, right? Atlanta would have swooped down with their talons. And Roy would not be there at 3.

It's silly. Fun, but silly and pointless.

Also, it is silly to think that we would have had the 3rd overall pick to pick Roy if we had Chris Paul instead of Felton. And the 8th overall pick to pick Noah if we had Paul and Roy already. We got what we got.

Just think... we could have had JJ Redick or Patrick O'Bryant too. I'm thankful that we got who we got.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

Yeah that's true that if we had Paul then we probably wouldn't have been in the lottery to get a Roy/Gay or a JRich.

I did that with my 2K8 franchise team but with some differences. I added Joe Johnson (said we signed him as a FA from the Suns), drafted LMA and Stuckey

Felts - JJ - Crash - LMA - EO50
Stuckey - Hammer - Dude - McMay - Hollins (who I created)

I like my team a lot!!

My "What If" NBA2K8 team was:

Chris Paul
Kareem Rush
Gerald Wallace
Malik Allen
Emeka Okafor

And we won the championship on medium mode.
