Hinrich/Noah for Okafor?

Hey guys,

Wanted to see what you think it would take for the Bulls to be able to get Okafor. I know he's an RFA (and we have enough problems with those as it is with Gordon and Deng on our hands).

But it's pretty much a given that Hinrich is gone if we get Rose, which I'm thinking will happen. Would you guys be interested in Kirk, and if so, what else would it take from the Bulls (besides Kirk) to land Emeka?

Would this work for you guys:

Noah/Hinrich/2009 1st for Emeka? Let's assume Kirk's BYC will have expired after July to make it easier.

Or do you think there's someone else that should be included in the deal.

No.

But it would be nice seeing Portland east, with all the young talent the Bulls would have with Okafor/Thomas/Deng/Gordon/Rose.

I don't see why the Bulls would select Rose, instead of Beasley. Hinrich was considered a pretty good PG awhile ago, and if you have offensive talent like Beasley/Deng/Gordon surrounding him, you don't need a 20ppg PG.

I would prefer trading our #9 pick for Gooden or one of the players the Bulls deem expendable. They could pick Beasley to fill in at PF, then go with one of the PGs at #9, and end up just as well off.

Hell Yeah.....where to I sign!! Hinrich, Noah, and a 1st????? WHamilton you're high and are overvaluing Okafor. I would give you our first to make it happen......Hinrich and Noah for Okafor and a 2009 1st. With the money we save I'll sign Jamison.

Bobcats team next year:

Felton/Hinrich
JRich/Carroll
Wallace/Morrison
Love/May
Noah/Nazr

No, Noah isn't quite as good on defense as Okafor and not even close on the offensive end. I like Hinrich, but I don't think he'll put us over the top.

You do realize he said next year's first, not this year's, correct?

No, I would not take Noah/Hinrich and a 15-25th pick. Hell no.

Noah + Hinrich salary for '08/'09 = 12.6 million +/-...the difference between them and Mek ain't gonna be enough to sign Jamison.

Not unless Mek is begging to leave, and even then I think we could do better.

NO. NO more Felton at SG, Richardson at SF...bull.

What is this because some of us would've drafted Noah in an alternative universe?

How about the Bulls draft Beasley (which would make much more sense considering they have been lacking an offensive post player for years) and we take TT off their hands (he'll be the odd man out) for Ammo and a 2nd?

Count me in on this idea, Slam! I'd rather accept no substitutions.

Noah.....Doh!

Bulls GM says he will make a decision based on the player, not on need.

Thus, his selection will determine all future moves.

I think Noah is probably least likely of any Bull to be traded. Neither pick will affect his status. Thabo is equally safe.

I think it is very unlikely that the Luxury Tax conscious Bulls - who still have to re-sign both Deng & Gordon - will be interested in a guy who turned down a $65 million deal last offseason.

Some of you guys seriously under-value Okafor. Watch Okafor in Larry Brown's system. How do you think Ben Wallace became an All-Star? I'd consider trading Okafor with someone else to aquire a proven star like Carmello for example, but none of this Hinrich + Noah for Okafor crap. If you want Okafor at least hand over the #1 pick so we can replace him with Beasley.

homer much?

i'd give you your choice of 2 payers from the following for okafor: kirk, gordon, deng, nocioni, gooden, hughes

however if you wanted deng/gooden you'd have to include something else, or if you wanted hughes for some reason then we would have to sweeten the pot

Then you wouldn't get Okafor.

We don't need another wing (take out Deng & the overpaid Nocioni), we're not paying Hinrich's salary nor Hughes...HUGHES???. Gooden is nothing but a low BBIQ expiring, and Gordon is wanting to get paid just like Mek...only Mek is arguably worth near to what he's wanting.

In short, you're not offering anything we'd want.

I'm not even listening to offers from the bulls that don't include Beasley or Tyrus Thomas

Kirk and Tyrus, and if you wanted: Hughes, Gooden, or Noah.

I just don't see Meka's value so high considering he is a 14 and 10 player with injury concerns and no upward moving stats. Shoot, he averaged his most ppg his rookie season.

I understand not wanting Hinrich because of Felton but in terms of value Noah, Hinrich, and a 1st is solid value for a guy that wants ridiculous near max money.

Hinrich, Gooden, and Noah

For

Okafor and Nazr

You get big cap relief in this to as Gooden is an expiring, Noah is on a rookie contract, while Meka will get a big pay day and Nazr has a brutal contract.

Nazr doesn't have a "brutal" contract at all...6 million per year for a guy (since he's been with us) who's shooting over 50% FG, a PER of 16.2 and averaging 8/6 in 20 mpg is a pretty good rate IMO. Not to mention this year's FA crop is very weak on bigs I'd just as soon hang on to him.

His BBIQ is also MUCH higher than Gooden's. His expiring doesn't mean that much to us either as we're trying to get into the playoffs (remember the 8th swap for Swish last year? The expirings for Nazr?).

Hinrich also isn't a plus...his contract blows. THERE'S a brutal contract.

Sooo, 2 negatives plus Noah for Mek. His value might not be "high", but it's certainly higher than this package.

Why would the Bulls want Okafor? Their problem is post scoring, they already have enough defense. Okafor on the Bulls would seem redundant. Also, Hinrich was horrible this past season and we already have Felton who finally has a coach who will get the most out of him.

Seems like the Bulls and us really have similar needs heading into this season. Better point guard play and scoring in the low post.
