Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft - Pick #26

Post#1 » by August Us Seazr » Sun May 25, 2008 3:00 am

Well, back to the polls! I have been out for a couple of days with a bad schedule and even worse...stubborn computer. I hope we can get some votes in now. Saturday and Sunday- Pick # 26. The bottom five of the first round begins.

If we were to play this pick on draft night, we will be dealing with San Antonio to get it. I dare say that if we trade with the Spurs, we would probably not be able to shake off one of their core players. But trying would be fun.

To fill you in, in case you haven't caught the summary thread- We had another tie at # 25. Tywon Lawson of North Carolina survived the latest of my reverse raffles to get us a winner. And if you voted for Billy Walker, better luck this time!

33 days until draft. 1 day to vote. 9 names to choose from. Good luck, gentlemen.

Thompson wasn't flying high for us, so I thought I'd go another way. With the 9 loaded with 2s and 3s, I limited my consideration to what we need- PG, PF, or C. Went with the local PF, J. J. Hickson.

Funny thing, when these mock drafts get updated, some interesting things happen. Last week, Hickson was missing on 2 of my 5 mocks that I am monitoring. This week, he reappears strongly. E4, are you with us? Your guy is here! And as some move up the board, others fall. Stay tuned everybody. If a player you like isn't here today, he may be tomorrow.

Claw on!

THIS is the way I always hoped the write-in spot would work- On a light voting day, write in votes forged a tie with one of the "9". A tie??????!! You can believe that I'm l o v i n g this.

So, from the blue write-in corner we have Bill(y) "Sky"Walker of Kansas State University. In the red ballot corner we have J.J. Hickson of North Carolina State. The hat with the 4 slips, please.

In our reverse raffle- 4 slips - first one:

Walker.

Second one:

Walker.

Last two slips in the hat are for J. J. Hickson. Our selection at # 26.

Walker will be on the ballot tonight, even though he is # 19 by the five mocks I am guided by. So, fear not, Walker fans- the Skyman will be around one more time for # 27. Next thread shortly.
