Have you all had a great Memorial Day, Cats fans? Time once again for selecting another piece of our draft day listing of players we want in the order of wherever we might trade our #9 pick. Today's focus is on pick # 27, now held by the former occupants of the Charlotte arena, the Hornets.

Now, I know that we may all be sayin' "Why the heck would we trade with the Hornets?" We probably wouldn't, but with more trade talk being acknowledged by teams around the league than I have heard in a couple of years, I would not be surprised to see a lot of picks and players moving around this summer. Let's just make sure that we have base # 27 covered.

A little carryover business from pick # 26. For the first time in two years, a write-in qualified for the tie-breaker, but eventually lost in the tie breaker method of reverse raffle- last slip drawn wins. So, if you are one that has been voting "these 9 don't do it for me", PLEASE be sure to at least post the name of the player you want, so that we can take it into account at the conclusion of this vote. This is one case where being specific MIGHT get your man into the winner's circle.

Yesterday's winner was J. J. Hickson of NC State. He won a thrilling reverse raffle with our write-in hero, Bill Walker of Kansas State. So impressed I was with this performance, I am elevating Walker to the "9" for tonight only. However, he has to get more than 2 votes to stay on the ballot for # 28. Fair enough?

We are now down to the voting, guys. Let's get good with this one.

As much as I like what the fans did for Walker yesterday, when I saw the size of that Australian Man-Mountain, Nathan Jawai, I just had to pull the trigger. Jawai fills a need position. I think.

He certainly would give pause to some All-Star point guards trying to post up, wouldn't he?

The doubter in me says he deals with our shoddy training staff and the knee buckles after an apparent successful acl surgery..but maybe Sean May can set the example?

Im interested in Walker, but because we haven't seen much of him here in Australia, and the most that people know about him here is that he was Mayo's high school team mate, but how does a top 5 talent fall to the bottom of the first round, top 2nd round. I understand he had a knee injury, but surely there are other issues for such a slide.

came back out of shape, worked himself back in, now is in really, really good shape.

Walker's going higher than this, and will probably be a steal wherever he does go.

I understand that Walt, but a player with the talent of Walker doesn't slide over 30 position due to being out of shape... Teams know that he's out of shape due to his injury and should be smarter than that.

Of course if he was orginally looking like Kevin Durant and ballooned out to Oliver Miller then there is an issue of 3..

Teams don't like to take risks and there isn't alot seperating bill walker from others.. to make them choose walker over them.. its more then just picking the best player the gm has to consider how he will look after the pick if he wants to keep his job security high

I'm back, Fats! Been a hard week to get computer time. The schedule was just too full. But I'm back at it. And I note that in my absence, you have elected Billy Walker to the 27th spot.
