looks like dave hanners is officially a bobcat assistant, joining phil ford and jeff capel. snow is also still a possibility, it seems.

One thing is for sure with these assistants...our 1 point guard on the roster will be very well coached. I like all of those guys, but we have some big guys who need very badly to be coached too.

Someone get Patrick Ewing on the phone (and tell him if he comes, he can be groomed by LB to take over in a couple of years).

Someone not do that. Offer him assistant, but i wouldn't guarantee him head coach in a couple.

Aww man. In the Larry Brown thread I typed "Dave Cowens will be an assistant for certain."

I meant Dave Hanners!!! UGH!!

No to Ewing from me.

Why haven't we hired the Dream yet to make Okafor into a better center?

Also, is Jeff Capel married to Bob Johnson's daughter or something? How the hell does this guy stick around, he's like a damn roach.

I don't know if all the assistants are set yet. The website doesn't have any information about Paul, and he was with the team last year.

And of course there is this "Michael Sanders begins his second season as a Bucks assistant after being named to the posistion June 7, 2005".
I understand that many many people and such confuse us with the Hornets (it was nice to see the Bobcats were in the playoffs a couple weeks ago), but the Bucks?

I think Hakeem is a horrible coach/mentor for EO50.

get charles oakley to mentor okafor. oakley can teach him how to scare the living crap out of opponents and how to shoot a 15 foot jumper at the same time. win win.

I'd be down with Oakley too, plus he's buddy-buddy with Jordan. One thing this team still doesn't have is attitude. We need someone who's bitter and mad at the world on this roster (and is good) to maybe spark a fire under guys asses when the going gets tough. Okaley can at least provide that from the bench.

if avery cant land a head job this summer, what are the chances he opts for an assistant job for a year or two? based on what i saw the other night, his career in broadcasting is not a bright one.

I thought the whole reason he didn't want to get back in as a head coach was because he's earning a paycheck from Cuban as long as he stays away from coaching.

He'll probably continue to stay away, or finally opt for a head coaching job somewhere along the line.

Could they not agree on a settlement like LB did with the Knicks?

Eric Snow is going to join your coaching staff.

Not sure if you guys were aware of this or if it has been posted (I looked but couldnt find it). According to some very reputable sources it looks like once Eric's injury retirement situation is finally taken care of he will be headed to Charlotte, to reunite with Coach Brown and to become an assistant on your staff. Congrats on a great pickup. E Snow is wise beyond his years.

i'm moving to the "assistant coach" thread, however.

So does that make him the natural sucsessor to Brown as our future head coach in a couple of years?

its official, hanners, ford and capel... for now.

still no mention of eric snow.... but we did add lasalle thompson as strength and conditioning coach.

Stricker has a pretty extensive history, so that seems good. I think Thompson could be good for this team, but why not also give him the big mans coach role (unless that just hasn't happened yet).

But Jeff Capel. Why? incriminating photos, he knows the right people, hostage situation, why is he still here?

Snow makes a lot of sense, but why not Mark Jackson? He wants to be a Coach, and no one seems to be seriouslly considering him...based on the fac that he has no prior experience. It could be a win-win sitatuion for both sides.
