Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft - Pick #30 END of 1st Round.

Well, we are putting quite a list together. And it just got one longer/stronger. Slot Chris Douglas-Roberts in the #29 position. Really great value at that spot. But if you believe most mocks, he won't fall quite that far.

So, where do we find value tonight? A need position, or good value to lure a team into a trade....Maybe the Celtics at # 30? Tell you what. I'm a little leary of that Danny Ainge fellow. To take a broken down mess of a Celtics team from 2006-07, and get positively reamed in the draft lottery, and then pull off the most amazing rebuild anyone could possibly craft, you'd think ol' Red Auerbach was still fleecing the NBA GM's everywhere!

I'll look at it this way. If for some reason Boston trades up somewhere, and the # 30 is part of the deal, I think I'd rather trade with Boston's trade partner. But I digress.

There is another Nine for you to consider. Lately we have gone away from our positional needs just a bit. Are we saving up for our big "for real" pick at # 38? Hmmmmmmm...could be! Well, just in case we get into the # 30 scenario, we need to have a name for that note card to Commissioner Stern. I hope we get the best of what is left for the Bobcats! And now without further adoo....our nightly nine!

We conclude at 10 PM on Tuesday night. Please vote by then!

You know, its time to really put some thought into who is left and what they can bring to the Bobcats' table. It seems like we have the obligatory 4 shooting guards/small forwards in the 9 this time. Me? I'm still hung up on bigs. And Point Guards. That gives me 5 cracks at getting something useful.

We have Jason Thompson, a 6' 11", 250 lb. center, Davon Jefferson, 6' 9" and 230 lbs, and D. J. White, 6' 8", 215 lbs. who are power forwards, and two point guard candidates, Mario Chalmers, 6' 1" and 190 lbs. and Lester Hudson, 6' 3" and 190 lbs.

Thompson and White are 21 year old seniors, Jefferson is a 21 year old freshman, Chalmers is a 22 year old junior, and Hudson is a 23 year old junior.

Thompson is from Rider College, Jefferson is from Southern Cal, White is from Indiana, Chalmers is from Kansas, and Hudson is from Tennessee-Martin.

Gut feeling is that Jefferson and Chalmers will make decent pro players if they have the kind of work ethic that the Bobcats like to see. I'm taking a flyer on Jefferson.

I'm calling this one a win by Mario Chalmers. Our 30th and final first round player is one of our stated positions of need- Point Guard. We could use an extra one of those!

Thank you to each and every voter that participated in round one! I now invite you to partake of some thinking man's round two action. After a brief moment in which I will go and record our winner, we will begin our second act.

Until then..... (with heavy Paul Harvey emphasis)

The bobcats have one of the worst mock drafts on all of realgm lolol but I guess its due to the fact that if you guys were choosing at that pick which I thought was a bad idea... to do.... should've waited for lottery and then done pick by pick what each team would do :P... how does roberts fall to 29 that alone shows the Ridiculousness of this mock draft..

The "ridiculousness" of this whole concept is your post and you thinking that this is a mock draft.

Johnny come lately!!

Take the time to go back to the start and find out what we are doing here rather than making a post suggesting that this is " one of the worst mock drafts on all of realgm"

I said "The bobcats have one of the worst mock drafts on all of realgm lolol but I guess its due to the fact that if you guys were choosing at that pick"......

I already know what your doing im saying its a dumb idea and you guys should've waited past the lottery so you would know where you stand in the draft

right now, the only place where our collective "DRAFT BOARD" is "ridiculous" is joe alexander. joe has really come on strong the past few weeks. we have him at 24 which is way way way too low. he'll be a top 15 pick at worst and i could see him making a late push for the top 10 if he destroys a few people in head to head workouts, which he probably will. seeing as how he has the size and strength to spend some time at pf, he should have been higher on our board.

CDR in the late 20's is not far fetched at all. he could go in the teens but i could also see him sliding to the second round as well because his skillset is hard to project at the next level. we do not need a sg/sf since we are stacked at those positions. thats why he falls on our "DRAFT BOARD". if he was a defensive stopper at sg/sf then maybe he'd get moved a few spots higher.

I think we should start this later next season, couple of days before the lottery. There were a lot of guys in the teens-mid 20s that I had no preference for because nothing was known about the combine results.

Anyway, I love the recent ballboys from other teams boards dropping in lately... I guess people sign up on realgm b/c of the draft talk and then feel the need to cruise other team boards to see who/where could their favorite college player be going?
