Bobcats War Room - 2008 Draft - Round 2 - Pick #32

Well, we have officially launched our second round by a tie-breaker. (how else?) Two equally qualified bigs, and we select by means of drawing names out of a cap. To Davon Jefferson, I offer congratulations. To Jason Thompson, I offer the best of luck tonight. I was torn, because I have voted for both in the last ten picks.

I think we all have different ideas on just what will make the Bobcats a better team. We certainly have had very few lopsided wins and an awful lot of ties in our polling. I know I "complain" about tie votes, but that is part of my "schtick" in hosting this poll. Gotta keep you guys around, you know? But all kidding aside, the fact that we have so many ties means that we are all thinking about what will and won't work on the team. And we are fearless when it comes to expressing our ideas. Keep it going. We are 6 picks away from our scheduled slot at # 38. We need to go at least that far, plus about 5 or 6 beyond that to allow for those who will withdraw from the draft at the last minute to save their college eligibility.

Now, let's turn our attention to the matter at hand, pick # 32. This pick is now owned by the Seattle Supersonics. Should we obtain this pick by trade (though NOT involving Chris Wilcox, for goodnes sakes!) we have a few good men still available to us. You will find them below, all eager and willing to be OUR second round draft pick. How will you vote? Point guard?
Power Forward? Center? Or BPARON (Best Player Available Regardless OF Need)? It's your choice! Claw on, guys! And we close at 10 PM on Thursday PM!

I caught a little bit of NBA TV's coverage of one of the draft express guys this morning. The subject was sleeper players. Several of our "NINE" were mentioned as being sleeper types. (Courtney Lee, Shan Foster, and Richard Hendrix, as well as Marreese Speights whom we have selected earlier).

As one who admires the power forward skills of two different Duke alumna, Elton Brand and Carlos Boozer, I was jolted awake when Richard Hendrix was singled out as having a lot of the playing style of Boozer. I haven't researched his character, but at # 32, if he is 3/4 the player Carlos is, he is something that will give Emeka a new lease on his career.

My vote is for Richard Hendrix.

Thank you, guys for giving us a clear winner tonight. Our man at # 32 is

Richard Hendrix - Power Forward from Alabama.

My schedule was tight today. So off we go to # 33!
