Sean May: What's Going On?

Post#1 » by RJM » Sun Jun 8, 2008 7:42 am

I'm curious as to what happened to a former light in my #1 College Program's eyes. I know he's been injured since he's been in the league, but what's his status for next season? Will he be ready? I took a look at some of his highlights from the recent years (when healthy) and I was impressed. If he's still that good coming back from the surgery, he can still be a pretty productive player in this league especially playing alongside Emeka Okafor and a young nucleus of Jason Richardson-Gerald Wallace-Raymond Felton and so on and so forth.

this doesnt help much... we dont know much at the moment.

he had microfracture surgery on the knee and he has been rehabbing all season. other than the rehap vids on bobcats.com about two months ago, the team has said basically nothing about his progress or if he appears to be on schedule to play next season, or ever.

Yes, true. And mean. Perhaps meaner for being so horribly true.

What about Ammo's situation? I think he's going to be in the summer league, right?

I think that I read that Sean may not play in summer league and maybe not ready for training camp. Ammo won't play in summer league either.

The Bobcats don't expect Adam Morrison or Sean May -- both out last season with knee injuries -- to play in summer-league games in Las Vegas in July.

Morrison might be ready to practice in Vegas, but May probably won't be cleared to practice before training camp at the earliest.

Welcome to the board superbxl. Great to have you here.

That's really not the news you want to hear when it comes to McMay. The kid has had ample time to "get right". How frigging long is it going to take?

It would have been fantastic to see them both at SL. They need it - and so do we.

Thanks, I come here all the time but never posted here before, at least I don't think so. I think I forgot my username.

I''m beginning to lose hope in Sean. I was hoping he would be able to play like he did in the NCAA championship and the few games he played in the league. I hoped he would have been that low post scorer with a mid range shot he needed. Maybe Ammo won't disappoint.

Yes, welcome Superbxl. Glad to have you on board posting.

I too have pretty much come to accept May is not coming back. If he does, it will be as a mere shell of what he could have been. That microfracture surgery is hard to come back from, and the ones who did like Amare were already in great physical condition. May's conditioning has been abhorrent, and although I wish it were not true, I just dont see him back on the Court making any contributions. Ammo on the other hand seems to be coming along nicely. I hope he quit cigarette smoking as he needs to push himself hard right now in this comeback. Being diabetic adds enough of a challenge, he needs to drop the cigarettes.

Sean May was in Atlanta taking in a WNBA game with Marvin Williams a few games ago. He still looks a little on the heavy side.

I don't think that Ammo smokes ohara. I think that he dips.

Not that that's any better!!

I read somewhere that he smokes as well as dips. Might have been on a Gonzaga message board or something though, so question the credibility. Judging from those Coachella pictures, I'd say it's safe to say he smokes something (not that there's anything wrong with that...)

There was an article a year or so ago back when he was in China (?..or some Asian country) and it told of him going outside to smoke with the locals.
