Well, it does pass the Trade Checker. And I do like Josh Howard. But that leaves us without a true SG. Crash is a SF and so is Howard. Stackhouse is listed as a SF as well. I like Brandon Bass as a PF tho, but no sure if he could be a starter . But this just doesn't work for Charlotte as it leaves us in a glut at SF with no true SG to start.

HELL yes I'd do this one. Richardson's a better scorer than Howard, but Howard's a better rebounder and a drastically better defender. Plus we're getting Bass for Morrison? Stackhouse... whatever, we'd probably buy him out, but this is a must-do if the Mavs would actually be interested.

This is a decent offer if you just consider the players involved. Howard is a nice player and Bass can be a solid rotation player in the front court. But the trade creates a logjam at SF with Howard and Crash and then there's also Dudley so this can't work.

Yes sir....
I would try to trade the 9th and Gerald Wallace to move up and get Mayo....if not I would draft Westbrook to play some SG.
Felton/veteran PG
Mayo/Carroll
Howard/Dudley
Bass/May/Davidson
Okafor/Nazr/Hollins
That is a Larry Brown team. Brown would love Mayo's defense, as well as Howard and Bass.
Or....
Felton
Howard
Wallace
Bass
Okafor
Howard can play some 2.....Carroll and Westbrook would help out as well at the 2.

oh I forgot about Stack.....he could also play some SG.

Yeah and Stack's contract is only partially guaranteed after next season.
We are looking for more scoring punch and we'd hate to lose Bass, but it's the icing on the cake that is necessary to finish it off. Richardson is a target we would pursue in trades.
So ya'll are about 50/50 on it? But if you can package another deal for a SG then you'll be set?

If this can be done then great. Basically swapping Crash for Howard and also receiving a player with a lot of potential in Mayo and also Bass. This is a definite go.

I'll agree that it's fair value...but no, I wouldn't want to do it. I think Swish has just started with us and the 2nd half of last season was just a taste.
From my POV he's right up there with Stuckey...got to have a superstar coming back.

Interesting offer. Im kind of torn but I think I'd do it. No chance Dallas would though. I feel they value Howards defense/all around game too much. Now if this were the run n gun Mavs of 5 years ago then probably.

Damn I feel like slapping you guys sometimes (spectre, hamilton, amcoolio, etc). You guys just don't know crap and turn down anything. You think your players are worth everything in the world but for some reason the team stinks. If the team is as good as you guys think with your superstars JRich, Wallace, and Okafor we should be in the finals. You guys overvalue JRich, Wallace, and Okafor so much it's embarrassing.
I would hate to play monopoly against you guys.......Spectre: No I won't trade you Oriental for Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Spectre WTF......Stuckey? You want a superstar coming back?? Howard and Bass for JRich isn't good enough??????? Howard is a star....that smokes weed but he's a star. Josh Howard is 28 years old and averages 20 pts a game while rebounding, blocking shots, and playing defense....something JRich doesn't do. BBass is a 23 yr old power forward that's coming into his own....he averaged 12 pts and 7 rebounds in the playoffs. Hell I might do JRich for BBass straight up.

Well, I was operating under the assumption that Howard can play SG. I guess he's never really done it, but I don't think he's too slow, I wouldn't really worry about playing he and Crash together.

He's only 6'5 and has played shooting guard before.

Well CC, you would probably trade Kobe Bryant for Thad Young because you are all about future (hope) potential.
I would rather trade Wallace for Howard. Id like to keep J-Rich at the 2 because its a good mismatch against opposing teams and he is a true shooting guard also with potential.
Its also hard to take you seriously when you say Westbrook is the 2nd best player in the draft, then change it to someone else, then say we should pass up Westbrook if he is there at 9, etc.

The draft is a process.....we learn more about Westbrook, Love, and Augustin through the process. I still think Westbrook would be a great pick but I am souring on Felton so would lean toward Augustin as a true PG. I always loved Love.

and if Kobe is on the downside and he won't get me any more championships then yeah I'll trade him for Young and Iggy.

i like the idea of mayo, howard and bass. thats a nice core.
paired with okafor and felton, you've got a very nice defensive squad. then you just pray that mayo is a superstar. howard seems better served as a 3rd option, so i'd still be looking for that number 2 guy.
i think crash and 9 should get us more than mayo though. maybe mayo and some bench depth.

Is Morrison that far off from his surgery or is he on schedule with his recovery?
That would definitely have to be known if a deal was going to go through.

on second thought... josh is a decent player but he couldnt get it done playing next to dirk and terry. why would he fair better next to mayo and okafor?
how about leave jrich and howard/stack out of the deal and trade ammo for bass. then trade wallace and 9 to minny for jaric and 3.
felton/jaric
mayo/carroll
jrich/dudley
bass/???
okafor/nazr
