Okafor for Okur:
Jazz get the interior post defender and shot blocker they desperately need. We sign Okafor for 5 years 9-11 million per year. You get Okur for 2 years and 18 million.
Jazz risk a lot on an injury proned defensive minded stud.
Okur has improved his game drastically over the last two seasons. He now has an inside game, where before he was only a perimeter threat. He is also a better post defender than most people realize. It was Okur who took on Yao Ming and Tim Duncan (and held them well below their averages) last year and he consistently draws the top low post threats each night and does a respectful job. Okur is in fact a very good defender, but he is not a shot blocker so he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Okur also rarely misses a game and despite playing hurt for the first half of last season, he had an awesome second half of the season and was our most consistent playoff performer. The last and probably most important aspect about Okur's game is that he is a clutch shooter and performer. He gets the call to take the last shot when the game is on the line for the Jazz.
Okur has averaged 17 & 8 the last three seasons and would probably average 20 - 22 pts & 9 - 11 rebs for you guys. Boozer takes a ton of touches that Okur would be getting on your team. Okur would probably make the all*star team in the east.
For the Jazz we get a defensive guy to make up for the very weak Boozer defense. We don't need Okafor for offense.
