Moderators if you could please let this thread stand alone for a while.....Just curious as to how you guys think the lottery will play out(no trades involved)?! Not who you want the Bobcats to pick but who you actually think will fall to us, seeing as how this draft is to close to call one suprise pick could change its whole landscape and I think we are going be staring at a player we may not have thought we would get...with my 2 candidates to fall being Bayless & Gordon based more on team needs especially if B Lopez & K Love go before # 9......so heres how Im seeing the lottery as of 12pm 6/26/08
1. CHI - D Rose
2. MIA - M Beasley
3. MIN - K Love (dont have need for Mayo, just want MIA to think so they have shot at Beasley)
4. SEA - B Lopez (need big more than PG right now still have Watson & Ridnour)
5. MEM - OJ Mayo
6. NY - R Westbrook
7. LAC - J Bayless
8. MIL - J Alexander
9. CHA - EGordon(think he unexpectedly falls to us & we have to take him due to him being PA)
10. NJ - D Gallinari
11. IND - A Randolph
12. SAC - D Augustin
13. POR - B Rush
14. GS - K Koufous
these drafts hardly go as mocks predict & I think this draft after the first 2 is a pure crap shoot... Not sure we need Gordon or we even worked him out but for some reason i see either him or Bayless falling especially if Lopez and Love go early as there are only 3 bigs atop this draft(Beasley, Love & Lopez) some of these teams need and are gonna take a big (Minnesota has Foye, McCants, Telfair do they need Mayo?, Seattle has Watson, Ridnour, and playing Durant at the two but have no big man plus they have a late 1st and like 4 second rd pick, Memphis has Conley, Crittenton at PG, Gay starts at SG plus Miller can play SG what do they need more?) so some of the guards are gonna fall and I believe the PG's have more value than the combo/shooting guards.
Whats your take???

Re: Your Mock Lottery
Seattle, Minnesota, and Memphis are such hard teams to call. Because honestly, they only have one guy they absolutely what to hang onto. (Durant, Jefferson, and Gay).
Seattle wants to move both their PGs, Grizzlies are still dumping players, and the Wolves just have a lot of work to do.
So you can't really say they need one thing largely over the other.
1- Bulls: Derrick Rose
2- Heat: Michael Beasley
3- Wolves: OJ Mayo
4- Sonics: Russell Westbrook
5- Grizzlies: Brook Lopez
6- Knicks: Jerryd Bayless
7- Clippers: Eric Gordon
8- Bucks: Kevin Love
9- Bobcats: Joe Alexander * This pick, Adam Morrison, and Sean May are sent to the Grizzlies in exchange for the rights to Brook Lopez, the 28th pick, and Brian Cardinal.
10- Nets: Anthony Randolph.
11- Pacers: Danilo Gallinari
12- Kings: Mario Chalmers
13- Blazers: Robin Lopez ** This pick and Raef Lafrentz are sent to the Grizzlies for Mike Miller. Fillers might be needed.
14- Warriors: Kosta Koufos
I doubt I'm right, but it would be interesting.

Re: Your Mock Lottery
Edit at 6:00pm due to Nets/Bucks trade.
1: Bulls = Beasley
I honestly think that the Bulls would be out of their minds crazy to pass on Beasley. He and Noah could form a fantastic 4/5 combo for the next 10 years.
2: Heat = Mayo
The perfect solution to the back court woes of the Heat. Wade and Mayo will give opposing teams fits and be enough to make Marion want to resign there when his contract comes up after the next season.
3: Wolves = Love
McHale loves him. The young Wolves could do with a rookie with a vet like head on his shoulders. Love can play inside out which compliments Jefferson and the two of them can slide between the 4 and 5 spots.
4: Sonics = Rose
In what turns out to be the 1st draft shocker, Rose drops to the Sonics and they can't believe their luck.
5: Grizzlies = B.Lopez
Gay and Miller need an offensive post presence to take some heat away from them and allow them easier looks. After moving Gasol, the Grizzles have next to nothing when it comes to big men. Lopez fixes that.
6: Knicks = Bayless
The Knicks find their floor general for the future as Bayless falls right into their lap.
7: Clippers = Augustin
With Livingston's future up in the air and the Clipps with no full time option at the point, they go with Augustin.................who ends up winning the RoY award after starting all 82 games and leading the Clipps into the playoffs.
8: Bucks = Randolph
They just moved Yi and draft who they hope will easily replace him.
9: Bobcats = Westbrook
He came in and impressed during his workout, he's a LB type of kid, he has imense potential and can play the back up point/defensive stopper we need.
10: Nets = Gordon
The Nets hope to try and copy the Wade/Mayo combo with thier own version using Harris/Gordon. The Nets will activley shop Dick Head and once the deal goes down, will move VC to the 3 and Gordon to the starting 2 spot. With Harris a larger sized PG Gordon's height wont be a problem.
11: Pacers = Jordan
They don't care that he is young and green. They have time to wait and with Rasho now a Pacer, the Pacers build for the future.
12: Kings = Gallinari
After refusing to workout with a number of teams the Itallian sees his draft position slide. Artest is almost done in Sac Town and the Kings hope that Gallinari will bring back some of the magic the young Peja did at the 3 spot for them
13: Blazers = Rush
Rush has been lighting it up during workouts and while the Blazers really needed a combo guard, they take BPA who will also give them depth at the wing position. With Roy, Rudy coming to the NBA and Webster, the Blazers have a nice 4 man rotation at the 2/3 spots
14: Warriors = Greene
Pietrus is as good as gone. Barnes is as good as gone. Bookie is as good as gone. Harrington is coming to the end of his deal. The Warriors need a 3/4 who likes to get up and down and shoot the ball. Greene is perfect for that. He'll also help on the boards.
15: Suns = R.Lopez
They need blue collar grunt guy to team with Amare. As Shaq starts to wind down, he takes the other twin and helps bring him along.
16: 76ers = Speights
A great compliment to Dalambert Speights nice face up game and jump shot stretches the floor for the Sixers
17: Pacers = Arthur
They draft Arthur cementing their big man rotation.
18: Wizards = Hibbert
I love the big guy!!
19: Cavs = McGee
With Z coming to the end Verajeo will become the starting 5 and McGee will be brought in to play the starting 4 spot (eventually). He is a nice contrast to Anderson and his length and shot blocking will be welcomed.
20: Bobcats = Ajinca
They wanted Doc but he went #18. They get a nice fall back though in Ajinca who has been super impressive during workouts and who left a great impression on the Bobcats front office when he was in.
21: Nets = Koufos
They have the grunt of Boone, the shot blocking of Williams but they don't really have a finesse big - except for Kristic who can't stay healthy.
22: Magic = Lee
The Magic are seriously lacking at the 2 spot and bring in the gritty, talented Lee to fill the void. Lee has been burning it up during workouts and the Magic might have just lucked into the steal of the draft
23: Jazz = CDR
He's a heady, old fashioned type of wing player - just the way that Sloan likes 'em!! Their back up wings aren't getting any younger and CDR is a nice, safe pick
24: Sonics = Batum
The Sonics, after lucking into Rose, don't really care who they pick here because they are still too busy hugging each other over landing Rose!! Batum gives them some depth at the wing - which they need.
25: Rockets = Hardin
A nice back up for Yao and some added height for the Rockets front court - something, once you get past Yao, they seriously lack. Everyone seems to be under sized in Houston!!
26: Spurs = Ibaka
You know they are going to stash him over in Europe for the next 2 or 3 years and then just unleash him on the NBA having found their next last 1st/early 2nd round Euro steal!
27: Blazers = Chalmers
The Blazers hope they lock in on the PG who can provide what they need from the 1 spot.
28: Grizzlies = Dorsey
They need a blue collar, chest pumping, in your face intimidating grunt man. Dorsey is perfect for that, knows his limitations and his strengths.
29: Pistons = Walker
After tweaking his knee (again) Walker sees his stock slide back down after it was climbing up to the top 20 during workouts. The Pistons snap him up and along with Affalo, hope that they have their Rip and Prince replacements
30: Celts = Weaver
A heady, tall combo that gives the Celts some depth.
1: Bulls = Beasley
I honestly think that the Bulls would be out of their minds crazy to pass on Beasley. He and Noah could form a fantastic 4/5 combo for the next 10 years.

Now it looks like D*ck Head is going to the Bucks and Yi and Simmons to the Nets I'll need to "tweak" my mock. I'll edit it above.
