Artest to Charlotte?

Among the teams I've been told to keep a serious eye on in the Artest sweepstakes: Dallas, Miami, Phoenix, San Antonio and maybe even Charlotte.

If he can keep his head on straight, I would love to add him to the team. An underrated scorer and a very tenacious defender.

I'm prepared to be alone on the island, but Artest is EXACTLY what this team needs.

so what kind of deal would they want? they'd probably love to have wallace back.

would you guys move wallace to get artest, knowing he is a FA at the end of the year and about as predictable as a slot machine?

wouldn't mind getting Ron Artest for Wallace. My main problem is taking on either Shareef (likely included) or Kenny Thomas (More likely the included part).

Larry could at least reign Ron in. It wouldn't ever be perfect harmony, but I think it would work.

Just thinking... Anyone know if Larry has any hard feelings towards Artest due to the malice at the Palace?

Artest the player is potentially what this team needs, but Artest's contract (1 year left) and Artest the person are not. It wouldn't be worth whatever it would take to get him just to rent a headache for a year.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

He's too much of a media whore for me. Love him as a player though.

It's a gamble, but if it doesn't work out then we've got a bunch of cap room to use for next summer. Defensively, he's going to give us more than Wallace. Offensively, he may even give us more than Wallace. As a team guy in the locker room, he's a ticking time bomb. However there's no aggressive personalities for him to clash with, so he might work here.

Hell no. There are not many players I would like to have on roster less.

Don't do it. He is an amazing talent but he can destroy a team from the inside. He'll play right for two games and look like an allstar, and then he'll chuck a bunch of bad threes and shoot you right out of it, and then he'll demand a trade. It's a wild ride that you are better off skipping.

Is that possible on 38% 3 pt FG throughout the entire season? Kings were +.500 in games Artest played.

I like Artest, and his defense would be an upgrade from GW, but these guys are so similar I don't see an upside to a deal for us. Wallace needs to work within a system to maximize his contribution and hopefully LB's will work for him. We need a PF to match with Okafor anyway, and Artest is not at his best at the 4 (although he holds up better there than GW does). Unless the plan is to play small ball with RA at the 4, J-Rich at the 3, (fill in the blank) at 2, etc., I don't see the logic.

A trade that does work would be Wallace and May for Artest and Shelden Williams (Trade ID #4723006). That would get us a healthier PF/C reserve than McMay but we're set with Williams salary for another 2 years.

Gotta be some better deals out there, but the impact trades are becoming all but gone. If the Cats intend to do a deal they'd better get their ARSE off the golf course and into some discussion.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

You could also do a Kevin Martin for Ryan Hollins/Davidson.

i just saw a rumor on espn that dallas is offering bass and stack for artest. any chance this deal is fair for gwall? i know there are several fans of both players that dallas is offering and was curious if dallas would want wallace and/or if that's a fair return.

You're joking - right?
