Would he have been talking about Hollins? He's not paying through pain like Diaz has been and has a couple of years under his belt. I know he's not on contract though.

I thought it was weird he left out Jared Dudley's name entirely. He's either the one, or the one safe guy :D

To be fair to DJ and Davidson, I wouldn't work TOO hard for summer league. Weaver and Hollins aren't guaranteed yet, so they have no exuse, but I wouldn't think summer league practice/play has too much weight on 08-09 season pt.

Walter it depends on how serious the coach is about the summer league. Some coaches are very laid back but if LB, Hanners, and Ford are coaching them hard then they better play and work hard.

I mean, sure, I get that. Just sayin; isn't it in everyone's best interest for guys like Dudley, DJ and Davidson to play within the game so that the guys fighting for the last 4 (or 3?) roster spots can really show off what they're capable of?

Plus, with out injury luck I don't see the point of DJ/Davidson/Dudley exerting themselves and risking injury to show how hard they're trying...in the summer league.

I guess we disagree.......all 3 need to prove to the coaches that they deserve to be in the rotation. This is the perfect place to show what they have......if they suck then it will be hard for LB to trust them to play in the regular season.

Aren't preseason exhibition games the perfect place to show what they REALLY have, though?

I think we agree that they shouldn't be loafing around or not listening to the coaching staff. If they are doing that they should be ashamed. We'll definitely have to disagree about the maximum level of effort needed for summer league play though.

Walt and Cash, these guys, if they are on the bubble here have one thing to worry about. They are one trade away from being someone else's player. And if they are someone else's player, they need to consider that SL play is auditioning to the entire NBA for a job. Nothing sucks like getting traded to Oklahoma City and then being immediately released. Not trying to impose here, but this one scenario is enough to make Brown's demands something to listen to.

Each guy should always give maximum attention/effort, because he can impress positively or poorly. They might be dead-ending their careers.

Everything about LB so far I have liked.

I hope it stays that way.

Agreed fluffer. I was strongly against the idea of bringing him in this time last year but after a season of Vincent, Brown is a very welcome change. Heck, a grandmother with no hearing would have been a walcome change.

But so far, LB is saying and doing all of the right things. I honeslty feel our guys are going to have a chance to be the best they can be under him if they buy in to what he is selling.
