Who will we get in return?

Disregarding filler, who would you be looking for most in order to replace Okafor. (assuming we dont have to trade Wallace, Felton, or anyone else to get the person).

How about "none of the above would be able to replace Okafor"?

well when i said disregarding filler i just meant sort of like "who would you want to represent us" pretty much. obviously (or i hope) we wont be getting JUST that one player, but which player would you like to be the bulk of what we get for okafor (or in boozer's and marion's case we'd hafta give up some extra)

I want Boozer in a S&T with Okafor, and then go get me Josh Smith as well. Cut whomever needs being cut to make the salary work, but both these men on the Cats will improve us greatly.

Cutting players don't free up cap space.

Then send em off in a trade. Just clear up the space to get both of them somehow.

Also, a Philly fan on the Big Board posed the trade of Dalembert and Thaddeus Young in a S&T. I'd do that. Young needs to add another 15 lbs to play PF as his body is more of a SF right now, but if we could get both of them, that fills 2 holes. Beats letting him walk after next season and getting nothing in return.

We can't take back 13 million in a trade for a BYC player as 6.5 is not 125% + 100k of 13. Nor do we have the space to absorb the difference.

It's just not in the rules of the structure of the NBA... if we could just "get rid of players/clear salary", then every single team would be doing it for Josh Smith or even Emeka. It's just not that simple.

Smith OR Boozer would be amazing to replace Emeka. But I doubt we get either.
Who I woulda took:
2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: Porter Jr | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

Jazz fan offered Millsap and Okur. Not bad if that would work under the salary/trade constraints.

Given that the way the numbers have to work, we have to send out more than we get back. We also know the Lakers got smacked by Boston due to lack of Defense. Maybe we can get the Lakers to do an Okafor for Bynum swap? Gives them more Defense, and gives us a young Center who can develope into a true stud. They would also have to include a body to make the $ work but that may be something which will help the Lakers with a salary dump. Just an idea which may help us.

The Warriors could offer Al Harrington,Brandan Wright, Marco Belinnelli or Kosta Perovic, probably add some cash and a rd 2. Warriors can deal with the BYC stuff if it's done soon. Could even do just Wright-Belli-Kosta Perovic + cash + rd 2 which would be a cap plus for the Bobs. GSW also could take some filler.

I like it. I espicially love Millsap. I think he can become a solid starter in this league. Doing a sign and trade with Okafor and sending him for these two will be nice. Okafor has played under Brown when they won it all in Detroit so he knows what hes getting from him. Millsap is the type of player Brown loves who is strong and would dominate on the boards. A potential lineup of Felton/JRich/Wallace/Millsap/Okur is solid in the East.
