Nobody has good value right now. We have little leverage. It's not happening.

Plus, the team has another viable option: give Larry Brown one year with the current crew (future contract issues be damned) and see how far we get in the playoff - if we get in the playoffs.

If we make it to the 2nd round (not likely, but after all possible) we have a chance to keep everyone on board. Since we are then a legit team.

If we don't make the playoffs with the current crew + LB, maybe it's time to blow it up. I mean, c'mon. Major changes have to happen, and it's better to do them in a year when we know more about various pieces (Okafor, Felton, Morrison, May), than now.

Losing Okafor without getting anything in return is unacceptable under any scenario.

Well Okafor has really done a number to the Bobcats, making it very difficult to trade him. What do you suggest? Make a lame trade, giving us some long-term contracts on players we might not really want, just in order to "get something" for Okafor? Or will somebody actually offer us something of value? The entire league thinks Okafor is asking a bit much for his worth... what kind of offers do you think are likely? Or do you want to just grab whatever somebody offers just because it's "better than nothing?"

In my thinking, keeping Okafor for another year and seeing if we can make the playoffs (and then possibly signing Okafor after that) is a bad option, but perhaps no less bad than making a panic trade.
