Jason Richardson 2008 Offseason Workout

Bobcats guard Jason Richardson has been pushing himself
throughout the 2008 offseason. He sat down with Matt Rochinski of
bobcats.com to talk about his regimen and how he hopes to help make
the Bobcats an Eastern Conference playoff contender in 2008-09.

JRich with improved ball handling and a mid-range game, plus a coach who wants him to drive more?

a few comments:
- i would love to see every player on the team have one of these. maybe 2 a week leading right up to training camp? that sounds about right. i want a clip that show crash shooting the ball 1000 times a day. i want to see may doing wind sprints. i want to see morrison doing defensive slides. i want to see felton watching tape. i want to see okafor shooting a milion free throws and layups.
- the best thing i saw in that clip was matty c actually up-faking and taking a step or two in. if he and jrich can develop a good 15-18 footer, look out.
- i really hope jrich does drive more. i'm a little nervous that the development of a mid-range game will actually cause him to drive less. he is SO good at getting to the rim. most of the team is actually pretty good at getting to the rim, but too often settle for long jumpers. hopefully that was just vincent's system.

i know i sound negative, i don't mean to. i just think this team is capable of doing a lot and if there really has been some summer focus, then it just excites me and makes me want to hear all about it.

Agreed. Add in his 75% foul shooting from the line, which isn't that bad, and I don't cringe when he goes to the line at all any more.

I also think it would be ace to see one of these on all the guys over the next month or two.

haha, seeing Ammo out there got me pretty pumped I must say. I hope he can make a huge improvement this year.

I thought Matt already had the 15-18 foot shot? With Matt it's all about finding the space to get a shot off while being squared up. Harder to do the closer you get to the hoop (and thus the defense).
