Please don't buy tickets

Fats you can merge this with the Bobcats tickets thread but give it some time. I don't want it buried and people wasting money. I saw the other thread and it amazes me that people would pay ticketmaster charges or even full retail for Bobcats tickets. I don't know if you guys are Panthers fans but they usually do pretty good in filling up the seats. However, this year....even though they are off to a good start there are tickets everywhere for cheap. The opening game vs the Bears we had guys in our group buy lower level tickets for 20 bucks outside......the Falcons game lower levels went for 15. There were tons of tickets that were not used and couldn't be sold outside.

This economy thing and Wachovia deal has scared a lot of people in our area. There are lots of them that are going to cut out the extra spending...including fine restaurants and sporting events. I know 5 guys that work at Wachovia that are going to put their tix for sale on craigslist. Even if they keep there job for the time being they are scared and won't spend the money anymore. There are going to be so many tickets available at a discounted rate it isn't going to be funny. My neighbor who works at Wachovia told me he will sell me his season tickets at a 1/2 special. He knows he can't get more. Please be patient and don't spend foolish money. The Wachovia guys have great lower level seats if you want those.

^but, what if they aren't?
it's better to HAVE the tickets and know you're going to go, rather than HOPE you are going to go and get the seats you want. no?

Anything that takes money away from Ticketmaster can't be all bad...

I'm coming in to Charlotte in November, and I personally will probably buy the tickets I want outside the arena an hour before the game. If the bobcats start 9-1 or something maybe I'll reconsider.

you obviously don't know anything about Charlotte sports.....especially the Bobcats. There is absolutely zero percent chance you don't get the tickets you want. But hey I guess we need people like you that buys the seats at regular price or our franchise will tank.

there will be alot of games this year that i cant make it to, especially during the week. my seats are in the nosebleeds and only $5 a ticket, but if i cant go i'll give them away to anyone wanting to go. its easy to give away your season tickets... you just forward them via e-mail to someone else.

I've got excess tickets at 11 rows back, dead center behind the check in desk. I fell on my sword and picked up my bosses tickets last year and I don't need all of them. For the reasons mentioned above, it was much harder to syndicate my tix this year. I'm going the stubhub route, but am pretty nervous given the state of the world. If you guys are looking for some, I'll sell at my purchase px (10% off face) if you want. Sadly, the first poster is probably right. If you are patient, you'll get great deals.

Scary stuff going on in this city and the rest of the economy. Let's keep that talk out of here if possible. I have enough of it during the day job.

I can see both sides to the story.

CarolinaCash, when you're driving 10+ hours to go to the game...you don't want to play a game of Risk with tickets involved no matter what. Sometimes the security of having the seat before you make the long drive makes it well worth it.

But, in the same breath, if the team sucks then no one is going to the games, so you'll see a lot of people trying to sell their tickets for anything they can get.

^Yeah, it depends on the case.

Like in mine, I wanted to make sure I had tickets (1) and tickets all in 1 area with my friends (2) -- I didn't wanna risk that....

But, I do get the point(s) being made.
