National media attention, I guess...

Basically just freely takes shots at Bob Johnson, MJ, Larry Brown and the franchise in general...A few interesting parts.

pretty brutal, but hard to argue with any of it, except i still have total faith in lb to get the best out of this roster. now whether or not the roster, as constructed, is good enough to do anything remains to be seen.

It's hard to get pumped about this team right now. You can only deal with losing so much. The good news is LB is far too impatient to wait for us to land a good lottery pick so he'll probably tell MJ what trades to make.

Defensively we give the other team too many open shots and offensively we take too many contested shots - but I'm sure LB will fix that nonsense.

I don't think anyone realizes how far back the Sam Vincent experiment has put us. He completely ruined the philosophy Bernie came in here and built in just one year. It's a real shame too because our 04 and 05 teams though much less talented, played above their talent level by being gritty and tough. If we could get that out of our current roster, even though it's not as talented as some - we're still a playoff team barring injuries.

justified or not, the bobcats' owners are getting trashed in the national media.

this story is now on the front page of yahoo. this combined with the recent bob johnson debacle on cnn and our 0-7 start is really making our franchise look ridiculous right now.

The sad thing is that it's normal whether it's warranted or not.

I'd love it if for more than a few times a year I could get that nice warm fuzzy feeling about our team. I think us legit Bobcat fans deserve it.

Going into this season I've had none of those yet in fact last time I had them was going into last season when we signed Wallace to a contract and I thought Herrmann was going to get some good minutes at PF. If things keep holding as I'm thinking it looks like I'll be getting my fuzzies solely from other teams this year. :(

Really?

You aren't excited about having an actual, real head coach for the 1st time ever who might actaully teach our guys something and improve them?

You're not excited about potentially having one of the best PG rotations in the leauge?

You're not excited about a Swish who is more familier with his team mates, the town and is more focused than ever?

Not a hint of anticipation that finally a coach is calling out "Toodles" and getting him to play with a bit of prick in him?

I think there is a LOT to be excited and fuzzy about!!

on the court, i am excited.

off the court, not so much.

unfortunately, i dont think the off the court problems (front office, fans, money etc) will get better until the team has a few winning seasons. i am scared to see what will happen if this current push for the playoffs under LB fails. If this team fails to make the playoffs and we have to rebuild...... OH MAN, not good.

But off the court it's a struggle for most teams, unless you are one of the big market teams or have had recent big success.

It's not like we aren't as bad as some when it comes to bums on seats!!

LB is the best thing about this team and franchise bar none, at least IMO. But he alone doesn't do it for me because I've become disinterested in some of the players. While I believe that he can make a difference in the way some of the guys play, I think he's strapped because of the lack of overall talent and the build of the team. Essentially my excitement for him is countered by the Front Office which has done nothing to show me they are capable of putting a winner on the floor. We're in a very bad place called mediocrity which I was preaching about years ago as were others of course. When a team is in this position it's my thought's that it should be blown up either by trades or getting back into the higher lottery positions. We're bypassing this in order to try and sneak into the 8th seed to say we got there for a community that will largely not care either way. I don't see them achieving much past that with the makeup of this team.

I'll just say this. If Felton doesn't show any improvement under LB he is one of the most frustrating players I've ever watched play in a Charlotte uniform.

You're not excited about a Swish who is more familier with his team mates, the town and is more focused than ever?

I do love J Rich and everything about him. Actually your right here. Watching the videos of him working out hard this summer got me all happy inside so we can add one to the list. ;)

However in the overall picture he's the type of guy we need as a 2nd or 3rd option on our roster not the first.

Not a hint of anticipation that finally a coach is calling out "Toodles" and getting him to play with a bit of prick in him?

Okafor is another one who frustrates me but he has the ability to improve the most of anyone under Larry Brown IMO because much of what he does wrong is fixable by good coaching whether it be on offense or defense. Still even if he reaches his potential he reminds me of a Buck Williams minus the jumper type player.

Also this question in general is the type that doesn't sit well with me in the overall makeup of the franchise and that is the feeling that the majority of those involved with our team don't know what they are doing. Someone should have been riding Emeka about this from day 1 until he understood and it becomes natural. This is the NBA we are talking about here. When the fans of the team point something out for 4 years and it takes a HOF coach to come in and drill a simple message home then something is wrong.

I think there is a LOT to be excited and fuzzy about!!

I only responded to this because you asked specific questions. I really don't like talking negatively because I don't like to kill the excitement/mood others have or get from the team especially on bobcatsplanet where they tend to be more homerish but also freak out more when we go 0-7 in the pre-season.

With all that said, don't get me wrong. I've bought season tickets every year so I definitely support them and have hopes that we can make the playoffs this year. I'm sure if I thought about it more there would be a few games last year that made me go Wahoo! Hopefully, I'll be yelling that on opening night when Wade comes to town and we send him home with the "L"!

I agree with everything Chabber said. Honestly, I don't know how a title is coming out of this team in the forseeable future, but I do think that making the playoffs is a huge step for our legitimacy with free agents and such, not just for the off-the-court bonuses.
