CRASH still being marketed?

I thought the idea of trading Crash was shelved? It better be a major deal if Crash is involved.

I'd bet everyone is still being shopped. That includes the team itself. I agree with the laughing execs.

I smell another Hermann for Nazr type trade coming....

Get ready for a Crash for "Run of the mill PF" trade

I hate MJ so so much, I honestly hope there is a terrible power struggle between he and LB, and LB wins.

god we are the laughing stock of the league.

wallace is the only one playing worth a damn right now. MJ scares me. dude refuses to put in the time and effort to run a basketball team. how much trash has to be talked about MJ in the press about being a horrible evaulator of talent before his pride kicks in and he puts as much effort into building this team as he did into playing bball or partying? for someone rumored to be as competitive as MJ on the court, he sure doesnt seem very competitive off the court.... unless its golf or chasing skirts.

Well, so far MJ sucks as a GM or whatever we call him these days. But he's not going anywhere as long as he's part owner and has control over basketball operations. We can only hope LB convinces him to do what he wants instead.

Like I said in the other thread, if we trade Wallace it needs to be for a star-level type of guy. Boozer seems like the perfect option, but I'm not sure we'd be smart enough to go after it or if Utah would be willing to listen.

if mj wants to stick around in his role as acting king of the baskeball decisions, then he needs to hire a qualified gm in front of him, not his buddy and "yes man" higgins. does anyone think higgins would actually stand up to mj? i dont.

Would you do Wallace, Carroll and Nazzy for Banks, Beasley, Blount and Cook?

I know, you are right. Yours was WAYYYYYYYYYY worse.

You were trying to offload an aging guy who has been found out now he is not playing next to a two time MVP, a chucker and some 4th string PG for a young, up and coming stud with a very fair contract, a lottery pick who is has has a big question mark over him and a 3rd overall pick who is just entering his sophmore season.

You wanted trash for treasure.

Marion isn't trash, but he isn't different enough from Marion to warrant a team change. The proposed deal is essentially Marion plus throw in plus throw in for Wallace plus throw in plus throw in and as you wrote yourself, "wallace >= marion with wallace gettin the edge solely due to age and contract"...so why would we EVER do that? Cap room for Boozer? Please....

remember that this is based entirely on my belief that mj is shopping wallace to begin with and that you are looking to unload salary/make a run at boozer...i could be totally wrong in which case char has no incentive to do this deal

my only beef is you comparing beasley for wallace to marion for wallace and even saying that wallace for marion is even more lopsided...yes, miami does get the better deal but its not nearly as bad as trading a potential franchise guy in beasley for a guy who IMO wont ever be more than a # 2-3 on a good team

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, you could look at it as:

Why would we trade a proven young stud with a very fair contract who plays both ends, gives his all and is a role model as a player for a kid who has never played a meaningful NBA game in his life and therefore is unproven, has a questionable character and might be out of the NBA in 5 years time?

Besides, the argument wasn't just about Crash for Beasley straight up. There was a heck of a lot more to it than that.

I would do a Marion for Wallace trade, but the throw in's would need to be more fair for Charlotte.

I actually would like the cap room to go after Boozer, I don't see this year really getting us far.

When are you guys going to accept the fact that mj is not the gm? Don't believe everything you read. He has veto right which means he takes suggestions from other people and say yes or no. If Crash was being shopped in the off season it was because Larry didn't want him. That was made clear when LB stated at opening of training camp he wants a defensive small forward.

If mj was interested in being this teams gm he would taken that job and got paid for it instead of hiring some other person.

I thought it was more that people were phoning us about Crash rather than us phoning people to try and move him?

We certainly don't NEED to trade Crash or are even actively looking to trade him. He's one of our more reliable players if not most.

We do however have lots of depth at the wing spots and can barely field a starting quality PF. A trade involving a wing for a PF is imminent IMO, and Wallace would bring the highest quality PF back. Renting Marion for a year for a chance to be a player in the FA market for Boozer would be worth it to me. Marion improves our rebounding, can play PF, and can certainly run like LB wants us to.

Oh, we also become a better shooting team too.
