OT: Bobcats Open Practice

Hey All -- I got a chance to attend the open practice they had today @ TWC Arena for the Bobcats, and I was impressed, more so with Larry Brown and how he approaches practice, rather than the team itself. -- But, for w/ever reason, Morrison is an odd-ball. His head never seemed into it, and he was very lackadaisical out there. Brown had to speak to him every 5 sets of what he did wrong, or where to stand. -- Can't wait for the season to start either way.
Here are a few pics I got a chance to take out.

Thanks for the sweet pics Flash.
Were the guys vocal and if so, who was talking the most? How did Lex look out there? Did you see any specific work that EO50 was doing with post moves? What sort of drills were they running?
Any stand outs?
Sorry to pepper you with questions!!

The guys were more acceptive of what Brown was trying to show/teach them out there, mainly offensive sets from the 2 hours I was there for. -- They ran a lot of "dummy plays" as Brown referred to as during the practice, where he had the 1st team run their offensive sets with imaginary defenders on the floor, and did the same with the 2nd team. -- Richardson & Felton looked real good out there, and always seemingly were in the right spots on the rotations and curls and just where Brown wanted them to be. I can't say the same for Morrison, as he had to be pulled to the side a few times, to be instructed of what he did wrong, etc. -- Interestingly enough, May was on the 1st team with Felton, Richardson, Wallace & Okafor.
Is Lex the other draft pick, the big/lanky big man? -- If so, he was on the 2nd team, and I didn't notice much of him, as I was focusing more on what Brown was actually trying to convey to his players, which was really interesting of how he "teaches" -- which is not a screaming or loud style, but a very engaging one.
From those offensive sets they were running, Emeka posted up maybe 4 or 5 times out of the 12/13 sets I saw them run; they mainly got shots for Felton, Richardson, and Wallace off the pick and roll or screen and pop, similar to what Brown ran with the Pistons and Billups and Hamilton.
Stand outs? -- Augustin & May? -- Augustin is not as short as I thought he was, but he's FAST out there, he can get up and down the court smoothly and lighting fast. And, May isn't as "big" as people are saying, but conditioning is definitely an issue, he's going to get winded very easily though.
Overall, it was a very interesting take/look of what a practice really entails of. I'm glad I got the opp to attend one of these, after trying for years to go to a Miami one, but never got to one.
Hope that helps, BS!

Great stuff Flash - thanks.
Interesting what you had to say about Felts. On another board a poster who went said that LB was pulling Felts aside a lot and ripping him a lot where as you are saying he looked good out there. FWIW, I take more stock in what you say.
The other guys did agree that Ammo looked lost and unmotivated though. That's sad to hear, considering he looked pretty good in preseason. We need for him to do well. His contribution is very important to us.
Ya, Lex is the French bean pole we took at #20 and LB's pet project. I'm really interested to see him play.
Glad that DJ didn't look as small up close, because he looked freaking tiny going up against Fisher and Farmer the other night!! I think he has more than enough skills to make up for his lack of height though.
Thanks again Flash.

If Augustin can do what he does best, get to the basket, he'll be effective. And, in due time, his other parts of his game will come around, as his outside shot is still a work in progress.
I really like him @ the point, and he reminds me of a Monta Ellis like player.

Since there'll be more pick and pops, you think J-Rich's 3 point attempts are going to go way down?

Eric Snow was saying the other night that LB hates 3pt shots so not to anticipate Swish jacking up 599 3's like he did last season, even if he is hitting them at a clip of 40%.
I know - kills my fantasy team too.
