There's might be our missing piece. Can we get him? What do we have to give up?

(1) You crazy people better stop spending Bob's money.
(2) I would like to acquire him, assuming we could keep Okafor/Richardon/Wallace. I think he would fit in nicely, but some people said otherwise. I don't know what type of players GSW needs or would want, but it'd at least be worth exploring.

Did Harrington and Richardson have problems when they were both together in GSW, or was that Richardson and Davis?

Is every player released/wanting to be traded going to be suggested for our team? I'm surprised there isn't a Curry thread already.

Isn't Harrington a SF/PF grade A chucker? I don't think that would work so well on this team.

Al Harrington is not a chucker, nor a bad player. He's not a monster rebounder, is a bit undersized at the 4, and has had the occassional issue with his team/coach. But Harrington IS A PLAYER! :lift:

His ability to extend defensively, hit the outside shot (lay off the 3's) and still mix it up inside would be most welcome on this club. I'm with Ham, in that our ability to get him with some combination of players other than Crash would be ideal. Realistically it would probably take Gerald to get a deal done. I doubt they would take Ammo, McMay and Hollins but that would be my offer. If not Crash I wonder if they might take Nazi and Ammo? They probably would ask for Felton and Nazi as they need a PG and C.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He's 6-9, 250 lbs avg 13.6 pts 5.4 reb Listed as starting PF ahead of Wright
Compare that to what we'd get from May, or Hollins, or Ajinca.

All I'm saying is that would make us a whole lot more competitive than we are now. At least we should explore the option.

We could send Carroll and May for Harrington. That would work under the trade checker. They get a shooter to come off the bench. I doubt it is enough but it is the best package I would offer at this point.

Felton, Hammer and McMay
for
Williams, Randolph and Harrington

Of course, there is no way they would do that - and I am not even sure I would!!

i've always kinda liked his game. especially in the earlier days in indiana and the first year in atlanta when he was considered a good defender. i think he still has something to prove and could be one of those guys that eventually lands on a team that is the right fit, kinda like sheed when he came to detroit.

Looks like Dan Fegan is his agent. If I recall correctly, he owes us one for the Varejo (sp) offer sheet last year.

I like this if this team can get this done without giving too much.

To amcoolio, god I hope not. That is what the Nets board used to do. I don't mind some, guys like Ewing Jr, Harrington, and such.
But if it starts being guys like Eddy Curry, Malik Hariston, etc...then I'll have a problem.

Better get moving.......

No more than a couple hours after Al Harrington demanded a trade out of Golden State, the Bulls and Warriors had discussions about a trade that would send him to Chicago. The Bulls likely would send one of their many guards to the Warriors. Many scenarios have been thrown out, but apparently the Warriors are most interested in Kirk Hinrich and Thabo Sefolosha. If Sefolosha would be in the deal someone with a larger contract would have to be included. The Warriors have talked to many other teams as well and it’s possible they could wait a while and see what happens before they make a move. It is only talk at this point, but it is interesting to see the Bulls are still willing to shake things up with opening tip to the season being tonight.

Trade em Felton + whatever else they want (obviously not Okafor/Richardson/Wallace). I'm sure we can pick up a veteran PG on the cheap, and let Augustin or the veteran PG start at PG, whichever is better. If they would be willing to take Hinrich, you figure they would take Felton as well. Plus, I think Hinrich's contract is pretty bad, whereas Felton hasn't been given an extension so GSW wouldn't be as tied down if they acquired Felton.

Giving up our team to a rookie PG or unsigned FA PG just to aquire a mid level type of PF is not worth it. We have wings, that's what I'm willing to trade to aquire a PF. I don't think Wallace would be worth it, and I doubt they would want to take Morrison instead. Maybe something around Carroll and Morrison or Nazi would get the job done but then it leaves us just as thin up front. The only way I see this working is if we traded Wallace and that could end up biting us.

Harrington would be a legitimate option at PF and his contract isn't that outrageous.

We'd go further with Harrington/Augustin/almost anyone than we would with ????/Felton/Augustin.

     ITS TIME NOW TO BRING BIG AL TO CHARLOTTE.
3WAY WITH CHICAGO/GOLDEN STATE OR STRAIGHT UP. TRADE THEM WALLACE STRAIGHT UP OR COMBINATION OF CARROLL FELTON, MORRISON NAZR AND/OR WALLACE. THE BULLS HAVE VETERAN POINT GUARD AND THE WARRIORS HAVE THE POWER FORWARD WE BEEN LOOKING FOR FOR MONTHS.

THIS MOVE WILL SET US UP FOR NEXT 3 YEARS.

To Ham's comment let me add this....Y E S !

I'm convinced Harrington, Oak, Crash, JR and DJ would develop more success than Felts and no legit PF. We are going to struggle this season to learn LB's system anyway. Having a PG who has trouble executing that system in game situations (Felts) is just as bad as having a rookie PG. If DJ has the handles and mentality to adapt and be a pure point, I contend we will get better QUICKER, and get EVEN better overall, than with the current mix. My concern is who runs the point in reserve. Perhaps another deal get's made to manage that scenario. Any free agent 1's still on the market?

But the price for Al would be steep. If Felts and Ammo we give up our #3 and #5 picks for a quality (but not star) player. If it's Felts and Carroll (who they really don't need long term) that's cool. If it's Crash straight up, that is a VERY hard call. :-?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

If there were, Demarcus Nelson, an undrafted FA, wouldn't be starting for GSW. The options are very slim at PG, we're talking about Jeff McInnis type players.

Wallace for Harrington is a big no....Wallace is just a far superior player.

I would only trade Felton if it was for a player we couldn't turn down, not Harrington. I think people forget that a hole at the PG is always worse than a hole at PF. Maybe if DJ plays great in the first 10-20 games I'll change my mind.

harrington is still a solid player, he just been misused as a 3pt specialist in the nellie system. he's shown his versatility before with atl, indy, etc. he'd be a good fit with bobcats
