Season's Start - Name The Rotation

Post#1 » by Bassman » Wed Oct 29, 2008 3:17 pm

OK, assuming the season begins and proceeds without any other signings or trades, what is your rotation and rough estimate of minutes (30+, 20+, 10+, 5+, 4-) for the early games?

Here's my thoughts based on my prediction of LB's moves, not mine:

STARTERS and MPG's:
Okafor 30+
Crash 30+
McMay 10+
J-Rich 30+
Felts 20+

RESERVES and MPG's:
DJ 10+
A Brown 10+
Nazi 10+
Morrison 5+
Carroll 5+
Ajinca 5+
Dudley 5+

Inactives: S. Brown, Hollins, Linton Johnson (for a short while until he learns the system and/or the trade of Carroll/Ammo and/or their total incompetence on defense emerges)

I think DJ's minutes will be in the low to mid teens, while Felton's could hit 30+ ( I hope he's not used at the 2 but I expect some of that). Not sure Nazi plays 10 every night but I expect to see he and Okafor together some on the court. May will not log big minutes and I expect the rest of those to go to Brown, with a little Ajinca and Dudley mixed in with EO50 depending on the score and foul situation. I just don't see Ammo getting over 10 unless he's hot shooting the ball (hope that happens a lot). Someone has got to be effective to give J-Rich a break, but we will need JR on the court more than anyone to win games. Again I expect LJ to become a key cog in LB's system (the Lynch role) so look out MC and JD.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I think the reserves are a little off.

I'd be shocked if Carroll played 5 or 6 minutes a night. I think he's good for 10 at least.

Look for Ajinca to start at 5 but ramp up to 10 fairly quickly.

LB seems to only like 2 PG's on the court at the end of quarters. I remember seeing him do this a few times now, and it's a fine plan. The idea is to not lose the ball and get a clean shot off. For 1-2 possessions, we can deal with the defensive problems that result.

I think Dude will see more than 5mpg. I think he'll play the PF often (so long as match ups suit)because McMay is fat and A.Brown will get in foul trouble. I also think that Ammo will get more like 10 per.

Other than that, I agree.
