Bobcats and Wizards Trade Idea

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sat Nov 1, 2008 4:45 pm

Just spit balling, but how about:

Felts and Hammer
for
Blatche, Young and Songaila

?

We'd still have to find another PG to either start or back up DJ, but we'd get out of Hammers contract (Songaila has 2 less years) who doesn't seem to fit with LB's plan, we'd get Blatche who "might" be that PF that we need and we pick up a great back up to Swish at the 2 (I'm a big fan of Youngs)

Blatche is a ? as far as maturity and I've seen very little of Young...but I think I'd bite IF we could find a way to get a decent PG. Does Young have any handles? Is he passable on D

Throw some fuel onto the fire...after we do that how about Crash for Outlaw/Blake (could we get more?)?

Blake/DJ/Young(?)
Swish/Young/Brown
Outlaw/Duds/Ammo/III
Blatche/Brown/McMay
Mek/Nazr/Twiggy

Who would we cut for Songaila? If they'd eat May's deal it'd be better but they probably won't. Heh, could we squeeze 2.6 million out of Portland to buy him out?

This deal does not make us any better. I like the Blake and Outlaw deal but I don't think the Blazers would do that deal.

If anyone refused I think it'd have to be WAS.

These trades don't make us better IMO.

Given how poor DJ looked, I would agree it wouldn't make us better to lose Felton. However, Washington would undoubtedly not do that trade anyway, because Blatche has more potential than everyone else in the deal.

I think it 100% makes us better.

We lose Hammer and his contract, a guy who has looked lost, had his PT cut and has been ineffective. We bring in a two way player in Young who I think would play really well under Brown.

Blatche could potentially be the missing link that we need. Plus he is on an amazingly good contract.

Spectre's extension of the deal makes it even better as we get the vet PG we need while DJ comes up to speed and a ready replacement for Crash.
