Felton with 4 shots

Post#1 » by fluffernutter » Sun Nov 2, 2008 1:57 am

Vs. Miami....

And we win... strange, that.

Hmm... a sign of things to come...?

I seem to recall 1 of the 4 was an uncontested dunk, so it really was 3 relatively "optional" shots.

I like.

Of course it helps when your teammates are able to get open and function.

Hopefully your last line is what's true.

Felton played tonight like he's supposed to play. I'm really digging those boards, but assists at one point was like 8 in 25 minutes.

Give the LB influence a little bit of time. At worst LB will up his value for a trade.

Just got back from the game and Felton looked very good. One or two just bonehead plays, but he was very much in control. The refs were way too whistle happy on both him and DJ.

If the PGs play like they did tonight, this team will be a lot of fun to watch. I thought Ray had the best night of the two, as he'll get my silver in the hammer awards.

Hamilton, what's your thoughts on Ray if he plays like that all the time for us?

I'd trade him for Harrington.

Interesting note, it's the fewest shots Felton has taken since January of his rookie year.

Even though I believe Ray had a good game. I'm not one to believe that my starting PG should only take 4 shots per game...Ray used to play like that at UNC and it drove me crazy....He has to be a threat to score Not avg 14 shots per game but score when needed. Then, he could use that to open up the game for his playmaking... If teams don't respect that he can score the ball, they will start to play off him, doubling down....that was my biggest issue with McMinus....

As far as his shooting goes, I'm looking for a happy medium, around 10-12 shots while getting to the free thrown line at a good clip...

I would not change a thing. Well, except maybe less turnovers (DJ especially) and better team free throws shooting. And Wade primadonna whistles but this one is obvious.

I think everyone can be happy as long as we get the win, and I think Felton playing with efficiency like he did last night can help. Also he may be called upon to do some scoring for us when we can't get it going from our wings. In our little run at the end of last season, he was always one of the main guys behind most of our wins once he took over at point.

I would not trade him for Harrington.

I wish.

There has only been trade speculation from fans. I would trade Felton for Harrington, but I doubt that would be enough. Obviously we would have to include other players. I would give up almost anyone, outside of Okafor/Wallace/Richardson, and our two rookies.

McMay only took 4 shots too..................................1 afterburn, 1 jello shot, 1 three wisemen and 1 tequila slammer but it was the 19 beer and 4 family sized pizza he inhaled that really slowed him down.

Actually John Hollinger also mentioned the possibility of a Harrington for Felton swap, so I don't know that it's totally internet rumors. My guess is that Mullin is hoping to fleece Higgins/MJ out of a pick or something.
