still looking for bigs

eto guys
boozer, okur, varejao, harrington,

rfa guys
lee, villanueva, frye, powe, warrick,

ufa guys
odom, sheed, wilcox, gooden, bass, joe smith

at 34, i'm not sure who will be willing to pay sheed. he may resign w/ the pistons and keep chasing rings, but i have to think there is at least a chance sheed would consider a MLE deal with charlotte to come play for LB and the other UNC boys.

other MLE value guys, gooden, bass and wilcox could all be worth a shot. also, lee will not be resigned in NY so you have to think MLE would be tempting on his end. varejao, owes us. maybe he will give us a look for less than he would accept w/ other teams. warrick would be interesting here.

About how much money would we have to spend next year...assuming are roster's still intact?

I would really like us to do something next year in FA, maybe we could trade Carroll for an expiring and throw some real money down at one of the better guys mentioned.

all we will have is the MLE next season. we will be over the cap, or within the MLE of the cap.

what is the current MLE? around 6 mil per?

Did Matt become a superstud while I had my head turned or something? Isaiah is out of a job. I don't think anyone else is firing the precise number of neurons necessary to trade an expiring contract for Matt Carroll.

hahaha Wishful thinking my man

…but I wouldn’t say it’s totally out of the question, the guy's not a bad player and you can almost look at it as 2 years will already be off of his giant front-loaded contract. Just saying crazier things have happened...players get injured or teams simply need a shooter at trade deadline. Unlikely but just throwing it out there.

On Sheed: I thought the same about Jamison (who we can really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really use right now) but was disappointed in him when he took the big bucks to remain in a dead-end situation in Washington. I guess you can't blame him, thats a lot of money. I think Sheed would do the same if he got another big contract.

jamison was younger and coming off a great year. sheed wont get an offer like jamison did. especially with detroit talking about making a run at lebron in 2010.

A little off the subject Allen Iverson becomes free agent next summer, why dont we try and make try at him.Instant offense, an upgrade over our current point guard(I still like ray ray) but lets be serious here if you can add a three time scoring champion in here you do it bubba chuck as we call him numbers are(27.6ppg,6.3apg,2.3spg,and 3.8rpg) just some food for thought, and didnt AI have some of his greatest years under our current head coach.

I would be all for adding AI if we played him as a SG. That guy is not a PG. We would have to do something with Wallace or J-Rich though. Since Wallace could be traded this season anyway it may end up being a good fit.

As for Jamison, I was ALWAYS a fan of going after him but for some reason this team never agreed it seemed. He made several public comments about wanting to play in Charlotte, and he can still play at a high level if you ask me. He's a mobile PF who could rebound and shoot. I also wouldn't mind picking up Odom or making a big move to go for Boozer.
