I'm done

Post#1 » by _tijo_ » Thu Dec 11, 2008 3:14 am

I was contemplating it when we drafted Ajinca... I actually had to step away from the boards on that day because I was so upset that we left Arthur on the board.

Now we trade the best guy we ever had as well as Dudley (the only guy on the team with personality) for Diaw, Bell, and Singletary.

I can't follow this team any longer. This is the best we could get for J-Rich?

I'll miss you guys... the comraderie with everyone... Slam, Fats, Steve, Rich, everyone. I can't possibly follow this team that has bungled up every major decision... from CSET to the current Fox Sports South issue in the Triangle, from the marketing of this team, to the absentee owners, to the drafting of players for the UNC connection, or potential when production is needed.

This trade was the straw... J-Rich was the best player we had, and if we HAD to trade him, you have to trade UP.

I hope that one day I'll be able to come back. But I'm so beyond upset right now, that I will not follow this team, at least this year.

That is, unless, Steve comes up with another comic.
Who I woulda took:

Don't go mate. I'm as dissapointed as you, but we need to give it until the ASW to at least see how things shake out and what we've got.

Hang tight for a couple more months.

It's always darkest before the dawn! Give LB a chance to show us what he's doing. Gotta have faith! Make your decision at the season's end.

Hey Tijo, I know I flammed CarolinaCash when he posted a "I quit" thing, but in this circumstance I can't say I blame you.

I'm in the same boat if they don't go find a legitimate answer at big man to go with Okafor by the end of the 2009 NBA Draft. I'm tired of this team dicking around on needs and if you think Boris Diaw is a legit answer for our needs then you're fooling yourself.

I mean the Bobcats basically dealt Brandan Wright for Boris Diaw. How f'n stupid is that?

Not that stupid, as Boris Diaw has been more productive than Wright's ever been.

But trading Richardson for Diaw and Bell wasn't a good move.

Wright at least has length, height, and potential to gain mass and become a very good big man.

If this is what they would turn Richardson into, then we might as well kept Wright and see if he could turn into the big man they need.

I see your point. After all Jason Richardson had done so much to help the Bobcats win since he arrived.

Are you going to keep poking your troll-head around here when Boris Diaw and Raja Bell no nothing to help the Bobcats win either?

I guess any post which disagrees is a troll post huh?

All I've said is why don't you guys wait to see how things play out instead of being upset that a poorly constructed team which played horrific basketball is being broken up.

Saying you don't think the trade will work out is one thing. I disagree, but it's a legit position. Saying you are done with the team simply because Jason Richardson is gone makes no sense. He hasn't even been with the team 2 full years, the team hasn't looked good with him and he doesn't fit the new coach's direction.

And for the record, Jrich lead the team in Win Shares last season, 2nd most in Bobcat history with 7.4 (a season after Wallace earned 7.8 and Okafor 7.1). There was no second fiddle last year either, the next most earned were Okafor's 5.8.

Bobcats haven't ever won anything, but to infer that Jrich didn't help them get closer is absolutely preposterous. Time to return to the mistake by the lake board, no?

Excluding this year, I guess a Cavs fan WOULD be the type of guy that would know a thing or two about poorly constructed teams, huh? Don't worry, you'll be able to return to expert status soon enough, 2010 isn't that far away...

You should reread op. He's not cotemplatingg taking time off from following the Bobcats because of this isolated event, but the way this deal was mishandled is the straw that broke the back. Why did Dudley AND a 2nd have to be included, for example.

Bottom line...Diaw will frustrate the H E double hockey sticks out of you, and you will LOVE Raja's grit.

No, coming to a board that you never come to and baiting over a sensative subject is.

Consider this your 1st and last warning.

I like Real GM, but some boards and some mods are ridiculous with this troll and baiting thing. I come on the boards and talk basketball. I'm not looking to bait anyone into anything. The topic creator is saying they are giving up on the team and I'm suggesting not to give up on the team and I'm a troll?

I like many teams around the NBA, including Charlotte and I'm a big Larry Brown fan. LB is one of the best coaches in the history of the sport.

All I am saying is give this thing time. As they bring the right guys in who play, 'the right way' I bet you see drastic improvement. Jason Richardson is a fairly big name and he's impressive offensively, but that does not necessarily translate to winning basketball.

It has become clear they need to reconstruct this team. The process has begun and it will take some time. It's not like they are breaking up a successful unit. They've just become a much better defensive team as result of this deal and I'll be watching to see which direction they go heading forward.

I love what Raja Bell brings to the table, same with Diaw. Hopefully Boris refocuses back on basketball and he can improve even more. Throwing in the towel as a fan when this team is trying to better themselves does not make sense to me. They didn't get a huge name in return for Jason Richardson, but huge names don't necessarily bring you anything substantial. I think you guys will really like Diaw and Bell if you give them a chance.

You sarcastically insulted a player people like here, right after he was traded away for peanuts. You poured salt in a wound and want to call it "just talking basketball?" Self-deception at its finest... how did you think people would respond in this situation?

As for your basketball opinion, what, exactly, does Raja Bell "bring to the table" at this stage in his career? He actually hurts the Suns on defense, and that's pretty hard to do. He's a sub-10 PER player and if the defense isn't buoying him anymore, he's a replacement level guy getting way too much money.

Diaw has not performed at the level of an average NBA player for 3 years, though he is certainly a good defender. He is by no stretch of the imagination JRich's equal outside of his 05-06 season, but in addition to JRich, we decided to throw in Dudley and a pick. This trade cannot be equal unless Diaw actually outperforms his best season, which was, again, 3 years ago.

I hate Boris Diaw.
