Hey Guys,

Trying to see if I can get a home/townhome instead of renting and letting my $ go to rent, instead of it going towards equity, in a sense. I've got a few questions for you guys, granted you guys know more about the area that a noob like me coming over from So Florida.

-What are some of the top new home/townhome builders in the Charlotte area? I've seen KB Homes, but what are some others?

-If I am working in Uptown, what would be the best place/community/area to get a home in, preferably brand new? (fwiw, I'm currently in the Steele Creek area and really like it over here.....

-What are some sites you guys would suggest to get information on new single family homes and also townhomes, at that too?

Thanks in advance. :D

Thanks, Fat.

I'm trying to look for a new single family home or a town home from a reputable builder in the NC or even SC area (as long as it's close to Uptown Charlotte) maxing out at around $135k. -- I've seen 2 properties from KB Homes close to the Carowinds area.

But, what are some sites that show new properties around the NC/SC area?

Honestly dude, I'd rent for awhile and get to know the area. The market is going to get ugly in '09 and I wouldn't be long real estate anywhere. Get here, learn the area and then find the builders that are hurting the most in a few months. There are going to be plenty. Heck, there probably are plenty already.
