Interesting stats.

In December:

When Okafor scored 20 or more points, we were 6-1. The only loss was that close game against the Mavericks (in Dallas).

When Okafor didn't score at least 20 points, we were 0-9.

Our two worst losses that month coincided with Okafor's two worst scoring games.

Correlation does not imply causation. I think you need to go a step further to make your point. I, do however, think there is something behind this thought.

You are right about correlation and causation but you also have to admit that sometimes it does. I think when Okafor scores well it means the offense as a whole is going well. Normally Diaw is having a good game and setting EO up for a decent number of scores. My guess, without research, is that when Diaw has his most assists EO has his most points and we have the best chance of winning.

The logic behind this argument (though unstated by the author) consists of the following premises:

1) Okafor does not create his own shots and scores far more frequently when the offense creates shots for him;
2) Bobcats offense, when running efficiently, is partially designed to create quality shot attempts for Okafor;
3) Okafor converts a high percentage of quality shots;
4) When the Bobcats offense is efficient, Okafor scores more and the team scores more points per possession than when the offense is inefficient;
5) When the Bobcats score more per possession, the chances of success (winning) increases dramatically;
6) The Bobcats' defense has been stable and does not fluctuate much from game to game in points per possession.

Therefore

Okafor's scoring 20 points strongly correlates to the Bobcats winning, though it CANNOT be said that Okafor scoring 20 CAUSES the Bobcats to win.

1) He needs others to create for him - but he is improving with creating his own
2) Totally - and thankfully. He's getting paid enough for it to!
3) Hmmmmm. Questionable. For eg, he should have a heck of a lot more "and one's" than he does
4) Of course
5) Of course
6) Stable and improving - although we do allow usually one player a gmae (usually a wing) to "light us up"

To me it sounds like if I saw Mek I would scream at him before I asked for a picture. He has all the talent in the world and surely the talent to average at least 20 and be a go to scorer but he is not aggressive enough. He has 0 killer instinct. I usually hate players like that but since he is a good defensive player always I still like him. Usually guys like that are looked at as guys who never lived up to there potential. I think he is going to be one if he doesn't change soon..

If Okafor scores 100 points in an NBA game, the sun will not rise. Okafor has never scored 100 points in an NBA game, and that is why the sun continues to rise.

Prove me wrong.

Wilt scored 100 points, bedded 10,000 women and the sun continued to rise. So, the real question is if Okafor scores 100, is the sun's rising contingent upon his sexual promiscuity?

Slam, I swear this guy must be a sports talk radio junkie. His "takes" seem incredibly familiar to the mental masturbation that is inflicted upon AM radio listeners.

Hey Rome, thanks for the vine. I just left my crib and am calling from my sled. Okafor is so TALENTED, but is a BUM because he does not reach his UPSIDE!

RACK ME, I AM OUT!!!

that stat says we should start tanking now. Who did we beat in December? the Nets and Bull? Memphis, OKC, Wolves and Wizards??? If we don't want another 9th overall pick, we should starting playing our young guys. Start Alexis and DJ.
