Jan 6th Hammers: Bobcats Vs Celtics

- Crash. Worked hard and was as his thieving best all night.

- Ammo. Although he didn't get a lot of burn, he got us back into the game when he was in with some vintage Gonzaga like scoring.

- Boris. Did a pretty good job on KG and was super efficient himself.
Highlight of the night: DJ in over time. The wrap around the back pass to Felts on the break, the 3 point shot, the drive along the base and then the making of the free throws, the standing up to Peirce, icing the game with his FT's with 23.1 to go.

Wow, our best game all season in terms of toughing it out. Nobody played harder than Felton tonight - had some great clutch plays - too bad he couldn't nail the game winner in the 4th but he's getting the Gold. DJ was on his way to a brown frown till he took over in OT. And the other I've gotta give to Morrison who kept us alive when we couldn't find scoring.
Gold - Felton
Silver - DJ
Bronze - Ammo
HM: Okafor. Came up big on getting some rebounds and lose balls, also had a big dunk on a pass from Wallace in OT. Wallace isn't in here because 4 pts in the 2nd half isn't going to get it done for me. Boris played well at times too.

Gold- gforce was just an all around beast.
Silver- Diaw solid game on kg and played a solid game as well
Bronze- Im torn between dis one i wanna say okafor because of the double-double,but i also wanna say felts so ill give it to them both each had a solid game.
HM- has to go to Dj clutch free throws, and for not backing down from the sore loser celtics.

7 tos and a clutched miss ft when he had a guy open that hadn't missed does not a gold hammer candidate make.

Heh...nice spread!
Gold - Crash. He was the man in the 1st half and they could do nothing with him.
Silver - DJ. He really struggled with Rondo in the 1st half/3rd quarter, but he grew some major balls in that OT. Very clutch and very controlled.
Bronze - Felton. Very up and down from him tonight. I thought he took some questionable shots, missed a freaking uncontested layup...but after that T he carried the team for a good stretch.
Edit:
Truth, an FYI...Fats won't count them unless it's a solid 3 choices (the

dictator).

Gold: DJ - 20 pts and 5 assists; but it was OT where he outscored Boston himself 11 - 9 and won us this game. Has to go Gold.
Silver: Crash - 23 pts 6 reb 3 assists 4 stls A solid game all way around
Bronze: Okafor - 13 pts 17 reb 3 blks
HM:
Ammo: 13 pts in 15 minutes
Diaw: 15 pts 5 reb 5 assists
Felton: 25 pts 8 assists would have gotten my Silver Hammer but for the 7 TO's and stupid Technical late in the 4th. 7 TO's takes one out of Hammer time for my votes, but still gets a solid HM

I wasn't exactly thrilled by Diaw's offensive performance. Looking back at the stats, I guess he played decent defense on Garnett, but towards the end it seemed like Garnett was doing whatever he wanted. But back to Diaw's offense, I think this is the exact type of game where we needed him to be more of a go-to scorer, and he just kept passing it. I think he only took like two shots the entire 4th quarter + OT (none in OT), and we need more offense from him, especially when we started to struggle offensively during the 4th.

7 TO's is no good, but what do you mean he missed a clutch FT when he had a guy open? He still carried us the 2nd part of the 4th quarter. I always base my hammers on clutch play over box scores. Otherwise Wallace would've had gold or silver.

Gold-Gerald-C's game planned him in the 2nd, but he was the man in the first. Wish I would've seen the oop... Thanks Time Warner.
Silver-Okafor: Defense doesn't show up on a box score, but he lead the team in +/- and kept the C's bigs at or below (in the case of Garnett) their averages.
Bronze-I didn't see Diaw do anything memorable and Felts was all over the place. Did see DJ go crazy when it mattered. St. Augustin gets my vote.

I had no idea that EO50 had 17 boards until I just looked at the stats (not that this moves him into my Hammer, but wow!!)

I'm going to move this to the game thread. I think it deserves a lot more discussion.

He had DJ open up ahead but took the ball to the midline on his own where he was intentionally fouled so he'd get sent to the line. Then he missed the first of two =/= clutch.

Hammer all over the board today
Gold-DJ
Silver-Ray
Bronze- Mek
HM:Crash
And my resurection from the dead player of the game (good prediction SM) was Ammo, but his spark and 13 points were great to see it ended up coming with a -11 in the plus/minus column, but the O was great to see again.

I don't normally do hammers but since it's going to be a tough one I'll bite.
Gold - Mek
He was consistent throughout and it was obvious when he went to the bench we lost our defensive presence and our rebounding fell off. I haven't looked at the stats but I'm pretty sure that is when Perkins got the majority of his off rebounds. Solid game all the way around especially since he was playing in foul trouble. He should have had a few more blocks but he was called for fouls on 2 of them.
Silver - Wallace
He went nuts early, kept up pretty good defense on Pierce but he definitely had his flubs in rotation and was losing his man a bit in the first half. Couldn't have won without his scoring and aggressiveness though.
Bronze - Felton
He hit at least 3 and maybe more clutch shots in the 4th when the offense had kind of stalled. Played very good defense and forced some nice turnovers. While he did have some TO's his vision and ball movement all game was very good. He'd be higher but his TO's and not hitting DJ with the ball at the end of the 4th before he got fouled knock him down a bit.
HM to Boris, DJ, and Ammo - Boris did well on defense, especially on switches etc.. He kept KG out of the lane on defense by stretching the floor and he helped push the ball down the court when possible for transition baskets. Just a very good game overall.
DJ for his obvious big 3 and many FT's in OT and Ammo for having his first good game in at least a month.
