Just for fun/What if you had total bobcat control

1.Your the gm and the coach.
2.You choose the lineups and how much pt the players would have and who would shoot how much and who would do what.
3.You choose what trades to make (just make them as realistic as you can from a talent standpoint, you don't have to use trade checker just make it close enough salary wise were some throw ins will get it done)
4.Make multiple situations for example what you would do if blowing up the team and or if you wanna stand pat or just make a deal or 2.
5.You do this year's draft. Clearly we don't know what pick were getting so do a bobcat mock draft meaning name the players you would like for us.
I will be doing mine very shortly some of my ideas will just be a minute to think of and others will be complicated and take a little while for me to write and figure out.
Please no insults because this is kind of more for fun because obviously none of us are gonna be 100 percent right or will it all come true unless MJ is reading and all other teams comply.

It could be fun and instead of making several new threads this could be better. I have alot of idea's for fun but let me start with if we were going to not do anything radical or to do something before the 19th.
1. I would trade for Rashard McCants. They do really use him at all so we could probably trade May and a second rounder and Lex and a few expiring like Brown and a whatever it takes to make the money work. They might even do Carrol if we take back a bad contract ourselves.
If this trade went threw I as the coach would then start
Mek
Diaw
Wallace
Bell
DJ
I would have Felton off the bench. I believe playing against weaker pg's could very much help his game and he could be a very good backup in the Bobby Jackson role. McCants I believe still has a boat load of potential and I would play him next to Felton in the backcourt as the backup guards. I would try and play them together as much as possible. Maybe MCcants would feel at home being here and would play well with his ex backcourt mate. I would even give May 12 minutes of burn or so as backup C and play all 3 of them together for spells. It's possible with pt and being happy he could play himself into better shape. His weight is the only thing holding him back. Another clear thing is espially when Felton and May were drafted is maybe it will help with the fans? Bobcat games are not sold out and are only televised 4x a month. We need more fans.
Maybe they should even think about drafting Tyler Hansbourgh if he goes in the 20's or trade for him. He will be a good backup in the Ronny Turiof level of player so it's not a waste like drafting Felton at 5 or may at 13.
Also some players need pt to get in rythem. McCants puts up pretty good numbers in the time he plays. It is possible he becomes a 18 point a game scorer if he started and I wouldn't mind not giving up on Felton with his trade value being so low.

Isn't this why most people buy NBA 2k9?

If I were in charge?!!....
- For the remainder of this season, I see if I can get Sacramento to bite on a trade of Felton, Carroll & Nazr for Kenny Thomas & Bobby Jackson, with my reasoning being this makes DJ the starter but gives us a suitable backup in BJax that is originally from NC and may not mind ending his career "home", but also gets us outta the 2 yrs remaining on Nazr & yrs on Carroll's lengthy contract for a bigger contract in Thomas but one that expires 2010 and Bobby's expires this year.
Thats the only other trade I make this year and let the year play out as is...as soon as it is determined that we are truly outta the playoff race I give Alexis, DJ, Hollins & Morrison significant playing time to see what we have in any of them and increase the maturing process....
- For the draft it of course depends on where we land in the lottery but I target certain players with Griffin being my #1 target but you probably are gonna have to get the #1 pick for him...so I also target Greg Monroe(G'Town), Thabeet(UCONN) & Aminu(WF) cause I feel like rebounding & post scoring is still our major weakness and I dont think any of these guys(except Griffin) take care of both but they do either/or.
- This offseason I wait on Detroit to make their move....they got Iverson thinking that both his & Rasheed's contracts come off the books this year so they can make moves, I dont think they will bring both of them back and since they have a recently extended Rip, an emerging Stuckey so I think Iverson is expendable....I use the fact that Charlotte is close to his home of Hampton, Va, MJ is his idol & he acheived his most success under Larry Brown to see if I can get him at a discounted 1 or 2 year deal because he isnt gonna make what he's making now on his next contract.... I also try to sign BJax to a smaller 1-2 yr deal.
I let May walk & make it clear to other teams that Crash, DJ, Diaw, Emeka & Alexis are our core and wont be moved but see if any of my other pieces can be used to improve the bench....since that doesnt leave me with very many assets probably not....
- So that leaves me with the following roster:
C- Okafor
PF- Diaw
SF - Crash
SG- Iverson
PG - DJ
bench:
B Jackson
G Monroe(?)
R Bell
A Morrison
A Ajinca
R Hollins
K Thomas
S Singletary
Vet Free agent PF/C
Gives me stability, versatility, "LB type guys" plus with both Bell & Thomas contract due to expire that summer flexibility/assets to change if things dont work out as planned

People play nba live for unrealistic trades but were trying to make it fair. We are gonna be making deals and this will probably be fun and save alot of threads. For the Draft you should make a bobcats mock draft meaning who would you take for us not who will be taken in what order.
Bell possibilites
Every contending team will want Bell for the playoffs to put on Kobe, Ray, Lebron. Those guys make him very valuable
He clearly isn't our sg of the future with his age but contenders would love to have him. All of them.
1.Bell for JR Smith. Clearly he is a young guy with boat loads of potential. As a starter with the green light he could easily be a 20 point a game scorer. I would throw in Felton if I had to.
2.Bell for Gibson or West. If it's West they would probably throw in there pick. Gibson is 22 years old and a light out shooter and both make it easier to trade Felton.
3.Bell FOr Pietrus-Another frenchmen funny but he is still young, athletic and is not a bad scorer or shooter. He is also a good defender.
4.Bell for Hill and Mason (from Spurs) Spurs chances of beating the Lakers go from 0 to alot with Bowen and Bell doubling Kobe. That is a nightmare for him. Maybe we let them keep Hill and trade Bell for Mason and 2-3 picks. They would probably do that. It makes there defense insane on the peremiter.
5.Bell for Bass and Gerald Green- Green still has a boat load of potential. Bass would be a very nice piece espially with Diaw and Mek prone to foul trouble.
I do believe the Mavs still thnk they have a shot and that means they need a Kobe glue man.
DJ
JR Smith
Crash
Diaw
Mek
This would be my favorite of all the Bell trades. They would be very exciting and JR Smith would get 20 points easy with all the lobs Diaw and DJ would be giving them.

By the way with this team I would play
DJ
Bell
Wallace
Diaw
Mek
Bell would play around 32 minutes and Felton would get the rest at the 2 and about 5-10 at the pg. Sean would get alot of minutes as DJ's backup. He would be the 7th man off the bench.
I would play Howard and May off the bench with Lex as the backup 4 and 5. Nazi and Ryan a few minutes here and there as well.
Morrison and Brown would get no pt.

Another trade I would try and make happen
May
Bell
Lex
Felton
for
Larry Hughes
I like Hughes. He did average 22 a game for the Wizards. He is versitle and on the Wizards he was aloud to have the ball in his hands alot and create. On the Cats we would need a guy to want to call for the ball and be aggressive. I think he can go back to being a 20 point a gamer. He is versitle and can pass and he is an excellent defender. He is still fairly young to where he can be there for our future and he can hit the 3. He's also athletic.
DJ/Sean
Hughes/Carrol
Wallace/Carrol
Diaw/Howard
Mek/Ryan
I would have a running offense. There are 3 guys who can handle the ball plus Mek and Wallace are 2 athletic guys who are almost always faster then the comp plus that goes for Diaw and Hughes is pretty damm fast. He would get to be in rythum, he would get free shots and his confidence would go up with free buckets and having his own team.
Remember on the Cavs they made him play pg or spot up shooter. He is niether. That is why he struggled. Now on the Bulls he only plays 25 minutes. When he was aloud to be himself he was a star. This would be like the Pistons of LB because they have no superstar but 5 super solid players. DJ is not as good as Billups but 5 2nd -3rd players could work.
This team would be a top 6 team in the east.
The Bulls might do this because they need a vet for direction in Bell they get to trade Kirk and still have a good backup pg or a expiring with May and Felton plus a young Center.
This is my real favorite trade not JR. It would make all the sence in the world for both teams.

Here is a wild trade idea, kind of a combo of rumors and it's just an idea so don't get mad I am not saying we should do it but if your gonna blow up the team
Diaw
Bell
for
Curry
Lee
Then turn around and trade
Mek
Wallace
Hollins
Ammo
Lex
some expiring extras
for
Deng
Kirk
Hughes
Noah
Thabo
This would give us some Larry Brown players and depth but I don't know if the Bulls take on that many bad contracts
Curry/Noah
Lee/Howard
Deng/Nociani
Hughes/Sefilosha
Kirk/Sean Singletary
Now I don't know if we can pull this off and we would have literally traded our starting lineup so you guys will probably hate this idea but the team looks pretty good right? Unbiasly it looks good.
I know the Bulls are dying for a big man and would love Mek and probably do anything for him and Deng's production is down so it would be a good time and Kirk is no longer needed.
Legit scoring. 1-2-3-4 punch is scoring. Rebounding, defense. The team would have it all.
It's out there and fantasy but it might work for all teams and everybody would get better.

I don't know the specifics of the Bulls but there is potential there.
Even
Mek
Felton
Nazi
Carroll
for
Deng
Hughes
Tyrus
or something.
I wish more people would respond, i feel like Im talking to myself and I have no idea if my ideas suck or are good.
I am not saying Mek has to go (though I would rather keep Wallace) but The Bulls would do anything for a big we could get them to seriously overpay, get more talent and get rid of some contracts.
Just for the record I love Mek,Crash,DJ,Diaw and even Felton. The only guy I really want traded is Bell and that is only because we can get a young stud for him with potential and AMMO because he is just a bad reminder that we could have had Roy and Foye and Gay and so much more. Plus I don't think he will ever be a pro once his contract is over.
Maybe Larry Bird will take him though if he thinks he can teach him something. People were thinking he would be a poor mans bird coming out of the draft.

Im just making a post to see what everybody else what do and to write idea's myself. Instead of making for example a Salmons post and then a Bell post and then Bulls idea's post I did combine it.
Why don't you just participate in this or stop critizing it. It's all in one thread and it's a cool idea. It's not taking up a ton of room with a bunch of crazy trading idea's when it's a what if you were the gm so we can think of idea's that are totally possible and ones that you would like to see even if LB wouldn't like it and instead of making a totally new thread for guys who should get playing time it can go here. What's wrong with that?
Do you have any creative idea's to add here?

It's not just a trade thread. It's a everything post. Player rotations, drafting opinions, who should not play and who would you want doing what. For example I was going to say if I was the coach I would tell Felton not to take more then 10 shots unless he is hitting almost half or he is wide open, I would tell Diaw to take more shots, even if there bad shots.
I would tell Mek I want him taking 20 shots a game. I would tell everybody to get Mek the ball down low at every opp.
Draft coming next post. (can you imagine i didn't put it in 1 thread it would be even more dexmor dominated which i hate, we need more people here)

1.James Harden-Yes over Blake. We need a sg and if we take Blake it means bye bye to one of our frontcourt players.
2.Blake-Have to on pure talent although I would use him as a Center.
3.Thabbet
4.Jrue Holiday-I hope he slips to us
5.Steven Curry
If the picks are kind of late lotto
Ogilvy
Pick in the 20's if we get one
Tyler Handsbourgh
I still have alot more college bball to watch to complete this one.

I'll give you credit for persistance and diligence but I don't really see this as anything other than a combo of the College Players thread and the Trading thread.
I'll stop mocking it and just let it run its course.

I did participate....if you would consolidate all your random thoughts, into 1 damn post maybe you could see other peoples instead of 15 post by you!!!! I like the idea, but I dont wanna see every post by Dexmor....let other people join in w/ ideas or let the thread fadeaway....cant you put all your ideas into one thought/post instead of every 5 minutes making a new post......Im just saying
