So, if we make playoffs, who owns our pick?

I saw an item yesterday that makes me really wonder.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3817136Doesn't Denver's compensation to OKC sound strangely like our compensation to Denver for last year's # 20 pick in the draft? ( A lottery-protected first rounder.) Makes me wonder if they dealt the Denver pick or our pick. Ideas?

I believe they traded their own pick, and not ours. Not completely sure, though.

I don't they can trade our pick because they don't actually have it yet due to the protection on it.

Didn't we acquire one our 1st year that was 2nd hand? Raptor's pick maybe?
Either way, based on that article it was Denver's pick they moved...not ours. Whether Denver makes the playoffs or not has no bearing on our pick.

Yeah I believe it was Torontos pick we acquired. I believe we took Dudley with that pick.

Denver isnt going to trade our pick because it goes unprotected in a couple years, which the way were going we could very well end up giving them a top 10 pick for Alexis Ajinca.

Yeah that is partly why I got so pissed at the Lex pick. If a top projected top 14 pick slips and you trade for it that is a good deal but to get a 20th pick for a potential lottery pick and it's a project is insane. At least if you know there a good chance of a steal like Mario to that would be one thing espially if you need a pg. That is why I am really surprised they didn't take Batum or Arthur. I know they needed a Center so if Lex was ready to play this year then I might understand that even but he is not gonna be physically ready for a couple years. If he had lateral quickness Lex would make a nice potential sf though like Ryan Anderson or Yi. Maybe he should work on that but I am not even sure if you can work on lateral quickness but being that skinny I can't imagine he is slow.
Maybe well be like the Hawks and make the playoffs in the final year.
LB did make a great second round pick by trading for Sean Singlatary. I believe he will be an excellent backup pg and isn't going anywhere. He will be in the league for 10 years.

Well, I don't think Lex will ever be a C. PF is his position in the NBA and I think he will develop quite nicely there, and if it takes him a couple years to become productive IMO it will be like taking a player that is NBA ready in the draft with our pick that we lost a couple of years ago (which would be last year). This might not make much sense...
