Felton is like Nelson to me

Both similar sizes and games. Both took a while to develop and the Magic were always thinking he wasn't a starter and they should upgrade but they ended up giving him time to develop and now he is a star or borderline star.
I think Felton will be the same. That is the type of player he will be and it won't take any longer to start then after the break or next year. They need to keep him.

Since I led the way in Felton's defense (loosely speaking) I'll chime in now.

They USED to be like each other, but Nelson has surpassed him. Thing is Nelson has always been a good shooter, and it seems he's elevated the rest of his game to match it. Felton on the other hand has not improved at all in his overall FG% and he's still making a lot of careless mistakes/boneheaded plays.

Can LB make him better? I think he can...and LB himself says Felton is improving. I just don't know tho if he'll ever be anything more than solid.

Felton has yet to develop a consistent jumpshot. If he does that, he will be better than Nelson. Otherwise, Nelson will be better for years to come, if he maintains near this level of play. Felton is a better defender.

Felton makes a few boneheaded mistakes, but so does every other point guard.

I know he is better then Felton now but Felton will be improving and does have that potential and we can't go all in on a 5'10 160 pound player anyway. Felton and Jameer have great body's for pgs.

I agree in that I would also say Nelson is the better player but I definitely wouldn't put him in a class above Felton. I think it's pretty reasonable to mention them in the same tier as each other at that position.

Honestly I feel if we swapped point guards Jameer would average around 20 and 5 with us while Felton would probably put up around 12 and 8 in Orlando. But I'd eventually start Augustin over Nelson :D

I don't think DJ would start. He really shouldn't start thinking about it now with his size. It's easier for him to play backups. I don't think Nelson would average 20 here and I don't think Felton would average 12 there. I think it's the opposite. If Felton wouldn't feel like he was the only guy who can score he would do better. He would get more open shots and have to take less bad ones and get more free dimes. More like on the Magic Felton gets 18 and 8 and Nelson probably averages well I don't know what he gets here.

Felton has alot more potential then Nelson but the comparison was really meant to say that he will all of a sudden break out. Everybody thought he was probably a great backup or an average starter but really Nelson is better then that and it will turn out Felton will be much better then that also.
He actually has teammates now who can hit the shots and create in Diaw and look how much he is.
He is only gonna get better. They shouldn't trade him. He has top 10 pg potential.

He is also the pg of the future over DJ because DJ is just to small for the grind as a starter. He is better suited coming off the bench and that won't change unless he seriously bulks up because I am not sure he can keep on taking hits and scoring like Ray Ray and all the other pg's.

You know DJ is taller than Jameer, right?

Felton would not average 18 and 8 on the Magic. More like 12-14 and 7-9. Felton is not a good enough finisher or shooter to average 18 a game. Unless, it's in D'Antoni's system. He's not on Jameer Nelson's level as far as scoring goes.

I would take Felton over DJ.

Jameer was the first PG Bernie passed on in 04' when we had a chance to have both Okafor and him.

I still think Felton is better than Jameer, Jameer is just having a better season. He's also got the most dominate C in the NBA up front to take all of the focus too. Not to mention all of the shooters around him (Rashard, Hedo, Bogans, JJ). Jameer is a better shooter, but Felton is the better PG IMO.

Bernie tried feverishly to acquire another first rounder in the mid 20s to snatch up nelson. But Orlando leapfrogged them by trading for Denver's pick

I know he isn't taller then him. ALso Jameer is jacked. Felton is taller then Nelson by a inch or so.

Denver seems to trade there picks alot. We could easily get a first rounder for our 2 2nd round picks. Maybe we can buy a pick or maybe we can trade May for a future pick because his expriring contract if we can't get a scoring wing player before the deadline.

i rather have Felton. I don't think Nelson will get much better and I think Felton will be in the allstar game inside of 3 years. This year he will become a really good player, next year a star and the following year he''ll be on a winning team (Bobcats) play the right way with a good shot and better shot selection and with that his age and recognition he will make the allstar team averaging 18-19 points, 8 assists, 1.5 steals and 4.5 rebounds.

This is why I think trading him can have the same huge determinatal effect like picking Morrison. It will be a huge turning point because if we keep him like I think we will we will be a top 5 team in the East in 2 years and if we don't well suck.

Jameer's FAR superior shooting renders him a lot better than Raymond.

Better, yes. A lot better? No.

Are you a bitter fan? Posting this after he goes for 21, 11, and 9(should have been 15) seems a bit odd.
