Thought I would get the GT up nice and early to try and initiate some posting about the game in advance.

Slam's Key To Winning:Let the others try to beat us. Granger is their gun. Stop him, stop the Pacers.
Slam's Key Match Up:Crash Vs Granger. See above!
Slam's Danger Guy:Troy Murphy. He's one of those big's who boards well but can equally step out and shoot the long ball that has given us grief in the past.
And for those of you I know wont be happy this isn't a traditional SM15 creation:

Got the mo, got to keep it! I'm a little worried (again) about our bench. They have TJ to lead their 2nd unit with guys like Rush, Hibbert, Daniels and Rasho to follow.
It would be AWESOME to kick off the road trip with a W.

Nice GT Slam. Isn't it sacrilege for an Australian to even acknowledge Foster's (outside of maybe in defense of Aussie beer and what it isn't)??

We are allowed to acknowledge it, we just aren't allowed to drink the ****.
If we are caught doing that they take away your citizenship.

We last met the Pacers on 11/28 at Conseco. This was the OT game where Felts hit that amazing shot and tied his career high in points. Okafor shut down the Pacers bigs and had 14/20/2. Gerald's shot was off but he boarded well and got into passing lanes.
Granger dropped in 35 and Indiana's starting backcourt (Ford and Daniels at the time) scored 20 each. Pacers have won 3 of their last 7.
We're 7-8 against the Pacers all time, sadly this is probably one of our best h2h records so far.
Crash an Granger have a bit of history.
Should be a good game, certainly is an important one. The Pacers are right ahead of us in terms of Playoff Odds (we jumped a lot last night, like from 13% to 23%).

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffoddsWe've jumped a lot over the last couple of weeks. I remember the last time I checked, we were in Chicago's current position (~6% chance of making the playoffs).

Eh? It's the equivalent of you drawing a map for him to get somewhere, whereas I magically teleport him there instantly.
Winner again!

Dont you just love what winning does for the fan base? Look at us. A whole day before the Pacers game, and we are already posting like mad men (and women). Winning is fun!
This Pacers game is really important. Given how we have moved up in the standings, we cannot afford a major letdown. This is game 1 of a 5 game road trip. Getting win #1 will take a lot of pressure off the team. Realistically, if we go 2-3, I'll be OK with it. 3-2 would be much better, but LA, Portland, Utah, etc.. not easy road games at all. Given that others competing with us in the standings will also lose some, 2-3 would not likely cost us more than 1 game in the standings, if that. And for a 5 game road swing, that would not be too bad at all.

The board is MUCH more bearable when we're winning.

This game makes me nervous. Our history lately has been when we play some good games, then we bomb out on a game we should have won. I think we've done that 3x over the past month. Cannot afford to lose games we should be winning. We should beat the Pacers, and we have been on a roll lately. And that makes me nervous. I can only hope that LB instills in the man a sense of urgency - you cannot take a minute off. Get them down, put your foot on their throat and finish them off.

So....the same day we're playing Danny Granger and the Pacers the Observer has this Rub-Salt-in-the-Wound article on May linked from their homepage as "Still Heavy Sean May is at Crossroads"
(
http://www.charlotteobserver.com/bobcat ... 94817.html )
The night of the 05' draft, I was giddy with excitement when I saw that Granger had slipped to 13 and the Bobcats would have the good fortune of drafting someone who could be a game changing scorer.......and then it took me 15 minutes to lift my jaw off the floor after watching May waddle up to shake Stern's hand at the podium.
Generally speaking, time cures all wounds...but I think I'm going to go to the grave still bitter about this one.

I remember being upset about that as I also wanted Granger. Many mentioned the FO had concerns about his character. I dont recall what the character issues were, only that character was mentioned. Anyway, I assume he has stayed above board as I dont recall anything bad about him in the press. And he has turned out to be a tremendous player. We definitely blew that pick and the Ammo pick. Maybe with LB at the helm, we dont have to worry about bad picks for a while.
Whomever guards Granger has to make Granger work hard on Defense also. Maybe tiring him out some will help slow him down.

I want to see Gerald Wallace give him hell on both ends.
